Pride of Plover

It has been a wonderful week for everyone who has logged on to the classroom and been busy with their learning.  I’ve been blown away by all of you which means it was very hard to choose a Pride of Plover winner.

However, this child has really impressed me and Mr Pickering this week so our winner this week is…. Nikita!

Well done Nik! You have challenged yourself and persevered with all of your learning this week and I am so proud of what you have achieved. You have acted on critique and given 100% effort to everything you have done.

Well done, keep it up!

Good morning!

What a glorious day! I hope you are all ok and looking forward to another great day.

Make sure you log on to your Google Classroom and complete the daily feelings check in. We will be continuing with Tudor Tales, Time and learning about King Henry VIII today. Do you know anything about him already that you’d like to share?

Remember to look back at 9.30am and see who our Pride of Plover winner is for this week. It could be you!

Stay safe!

What a fantastic day!

Well done to everyone who has logged on to their Google Classroom today. You have blown me away with what you have done. You have challenged yourselves and persevered to complete some brilliant learning.

Shout outs go to Nik, Shyaw and Phoebe for great Grammar work on prepostions, Shena, Troy and Cole for fabulous Maths and Alfie and Lauma for their English work on diary features.

It’s great to see how excited you have been about our new expedition. Esther spent the day yesterday as a Tudor person. I’m sure you’ll agree, she looks fantastic!

I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Good Morning!

Good Morning Year 3!

Wow, you have all had a busy few days! Your learning has been fantastic and it’s been great to see some photographs of your work as well.

I’m really looking forward to our learning today. Our Expedition session is all about the Battle of Bosworth. Log on to find out why it was so important to British history.

This morning, on our Google Classroom I will be sharing our TTRockstars certificates for the week as well as our total number of Knowledge Points for Read Theory. I wonder who will have improved the most this week?

Finally, well done to those of you who have logged on to Epic. You have read 325 books so far! Well done – keep it up!

Don’t forget the Joe Wicks PE session starts at 9am on YouTube.

Amazing learning.

Year 3, you have blown me away again with your enthusiasm to learning today. I have seen a lot more Tudor Roses appearing. Lauma did a great one. We have also had some excellent comprehension work from almost everyone who logged – it would take too long to name everyone!

There have been other great examples of independent learning on the new expedition. Shyaw and Esther did an exceptional job at the Tudor alphabet challenge. This was a really tricky challenge but you can see the research that went into it. As part of this, Esther made a discovery about the Nursery rhyme ‘Sing a song of Sixpence’. Look at what she discovered:

sixpence song – Esther 22-4-20

I look forward to seeing what new learning you all do tomorrow. Mrs Lewis is back in the classroom tomorrow so she can see all of the amazing things you have been doing.

Enjoy the rest of your day and stay safe.

Keen to learn.

Good morning Year 3!

I hope you are all up and ready for today’s exciting learning tasks. During her research, Esther spotted that yesterday was the anniversary of the date that Henry VIII became King of England – a fascinating fact! Let me know if you discover something interesting as you do research today.

I am looking after the classroom for both classes today so, as always, if you have any problems, just send me a question and I’ll try to help you through things.

Enjoy your day and I’ll see you over in the classroom shortly.

Maddison, Lucas and Lewis have been developing new skills this afternoon, learning how to animate a short film using stop-frame animation – the same technique used to make the Wallace and Gromit films!

I think you will agree that their first attempt is pretty impressive!

Another busy day.

Well done Year 3, you have all been so busy today! It has been great to see what you have been doing in your learning.

Cole, Alfie, Lauma and Shena did some excellent comprehension work from the first chapter of our new class texts.

Shyaw and Bradley did some excellent work on time in Maths. Keep it up!

Nikita, Lauma and Esther also did some excellent research for our new expedition and discovered what a Tudor Rose is. They then produced these excellent pictures of their own:

Keep up the enthusiasm and hard work!

See you all tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Good morning!

Good morning Year 3.

Day 2 of our awesome new expedition on Tudors and the exciting hook activities continue today. There is a nice practical activity for your expedition learning task today all based around the Tudor Rose. Log in to the classroom to find out more.

If you complete any excellent learning that you want to share, please send me any pictures and videos and some of them might be chosen to go on the blog at the end of the day.

I will be looking after the classroom today so please send me any questions you may have and I will try and help you out.

Make sure you at least complete the daily feelings check-in and I’ll see you all over in the classroom shortly.

Have a great day!
