A brand new week

Good morning Year 3!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! What did you get up to?  This weekend my son has learned to ride his bike, have you learned any new skills? I’d love to hear about them!

We are going to take a little break from the Tudors this week because Friday is a very special and important day. This Friday is VE day. Have you heard of it?  We will be doing lots of learning about VE Day, so head over to our Google Classroom to find out more.

Don’t forget to send me your photos of you reading in unusual places, thank you to those of you that have already done so!

Stay safe and take care!

Pyjamarama.

What a great day. There have been so many great pictures shared with me of places you have been reading or book covers that you have created. It has been lovely to see them. Here are just a few examples. I’m sorry if I haven’t shared yours but the blog would go on forever if I included all of them!

I hope you have enjoyed some of the different activities you have had the chance to do. Next week is the week building up to the 75th anniversary of VE Day in World War 2. Watch out for tasks linked to this that will build up to you having your own mini-party at home in celebration.

Remember we are now going in to the weekend so please do not log in to the classroom for the next two days – there is no expectation for you to log in at all. Also remember to log in during school hours only. You really do not need to be in the classroom at 7 o’clock at night! You need a break as well!

Have a great weekend and stay safe.

Rainbow Tree of Thanks

Our children in school have been so busy creating a beautiful tree of thanks to the Key Workers of the NHS.

I’m sure you will agree it is a lovely way to say Thank You and is now in our school entrance.

Pride of Plover

It’s been a wonderful week in 3L and it was a difficult decision to make knowing so many children have been working hard but our Pride of Plover winner is……Layla!

Congratulations Layla! I’ve been so very impressed with your enthusiasm and your perseverance with your online learning that it had to be you! You log on every day and give 100% effort whether it’s in English, Maths or Expedition.  You totally deserve this award and I am so proud of you. Keep it up!

Pyjamarama Day

Good morning everyone!

It’s Pyjamarama day. Find out more about it here: http://www.booktrust.org.uk/books-and-reading/have-some-fun/pyjamarama/pyjamarama-activities/ There are some additional tasks in the classroom today that you might choose to do as well as the regular learning tasks that are on there. You might even have the chance to win a prize when we return to school! You also get to spend all day in your PJ’s!

I am here to support you through the day again today so please ask if you have any questions. Hopefully I won’t have as many technical problems with the Classroom today as it was a bit of a nightmare yesterday! You can also help each other out as well, if you can.

I can’t believe we are through another week again already. Please remember to only do school learning during normal school hours. I really don’t expect any learning to be done late into the evening or even over the weekend – we all need a break. You can always use TTRockstars etc over a weekend if you feel you really must do something.

Have a great day and please keep sharing your pictures with me. Come back at 9.30am to find out the 3P winner of Pride of Plover this week.

Well done.

It has been a busy day again. One thing that I would ask though is to make sure you are actually logging in to ReadTheory, Epic or TTRockstars at least twice a week each. A few people have said they have logged in but they hadn’t. Please keep logging in regularly. In 3P Here are the top 3 most improved on TTRockstars for this week. Did you make top 3?

30-4-20 Certificates

There has also been some excellent examples of home learning going on. Esther has been making Tudor Rose inspired biscuits this week. They look fabulous!

Nikita has also created some Royal Crests inspired by the Tudors. Really impressive!

Please keep trying hard and sending in pictures of your learning – I do really love to see them.

If you have a moment to check out the birthday video for Colonel Tom Moore on the website, please do. It is very emotional. Tomorrow is Pyjamarama day. Please look it up to find out more about it but there are activities to do as an extra challenge tomorrow that you will hopefully find fun. You are even encouraged to stay in your pyjamas all day!

Enjoy your evening and stay safe.

Happy birthday Captain Tom!

Thank you to everyone who sent in a card for Captain Tom! We have sent this video to his daughter and can’t wait for him to see it! We hope you enjoy it and remember to get involved in our Amarillo video which will be shared tomorrow!

Good Morning!

Good morning Year 3. I’m looking forward to catching up with the fabulous learning you have done so far this week. I hope it continues from today onwards as well!

I decided to read the book ‘War Horse’ by Michael Morpurgo this week. It is only quite a short story and I read it very quickly. It is quite a sad story told from the point of view of the horse in the story. Writing from different viewpoints is also the focus of today’s English learning task in the classroom. Why not pop over and have a go now? Even better still, why not try reading the book.

I will be watching over both classes today so I will try and answer any questions you may have. Also, if you see a comment from one of your friends that you can help them with, please add comments to support each other.

Have a great day.

Tomorrow is Pyjamarama day!

Tomorrow we need you in your PJs ALL day! We also need your selfies with you reading books, watching films, playing in the garden (anything at all) but in your pyjamas! Just like these two superstars above!
We also have a competition as to who can read a book in the funniest place at home- be as creative as you can!

Please spread the word! Years 5/6 teachers will be reading to their classes on ‘google hangout’ at 10am, so be online ready to accept your invites!
