Pride of Plover

It’s been such a wonderful week again this week and it has been great to see all of your fabulous work.

Congratulations this week to Shyaw who is our Pride of Plover winner! Well done Shyaw, you always try your hardest with our online learning and you have done amazing work this week especially your diary entry. I’m really proud of you, you have done a wonderful job, keep it up!

Our school challenge next week is to recreate a famous portrait. Use your imagination and get creative. Involve your family members if you want, but pick your picture, strike a pose and get snapping!
I chose a portrait by Holbein (a Tudor Artist) to copy, but you can choose any artist and style.
Have a look at the website for some brilliant examples!
Email a copy of the original portrait and your new version to me: [email protected] or to Miss Blackham: [email protected] by Thursday 28th May

Last Day of the Week.

Good morning!

Another week has raced away and left us behind – I really don’t know where the time is going!

This would normally have been the last day of the half term and next week would be half term. Don’t worry though, in these very different times there will still be a choice of activities to keep you busy throughout the next week over in the classroom. Please still remember to at least complete the feelings check-in and have a look at the activities on offer.

Come back at 9.30am to find out this week’s Pride of Plover winner.

It is forecast to be a bit stormy today so hold on to your hats!

Enjoy your day and keep safe.

Well done!

Well done for all of your efforts today. There has been some great learning and I have enjoyed seeing all of your efforts. A few shout outs for today:

For refreshing their online e-safety and proving it through the quiz, a shout out for Shyaw, Shena, Arwa, Liam, Layla, Alfie, Troy, James, Shashank and Jamilia. Well done!

There have also been some very creative Tudor inspired food menus. I’m going round to Cole and Phoebe’s house for their menu – it sounded delicious! In fact, there was so much food on their I think it could have fed the whole year group!

A final shout out for today to Troy for writing this fabulous diary entry in his final write. Well done!

Dear diary,

Today I woke up feeling positively good. Today I plan to give some food to the poor. Because I am the ruler of the country, I have decided to give the poor people some meat because they cannot afford to pay for such luxuries.

As their king I will arrange for my servants to take the meat to the villages which I caught myself on yesterday,s hunt.

Because of my good deed, I will treat myself to an extravagant lunch.  I will invite my loyal subjects to join me and we will banquiit on rabbit, pigeon and deer.  We will also have exotic fruits and drink wine.

I will then end my day with a game of archery.

Enjoy the rest of your day and take care out in the sun.

Good Morning.

Good morning Year 3!

It was a really hot day yesterday and it looks like it will become a really warm day again today. Remember to keep safe if you are out in the sun and wear sun cream and a sunhat. It is also important to drink lots more water to stay hydrated so that you can learn better.

I will be looking after you over in the classroom today so please pop in and say hi. As always, if you have any questions, please ask and don’t forget to help each other if you can.

See you all in the classroom.

Have a great day.

Wednesday’s Shout outs

Another great day, I hope you have had a lovely day in the sun.

Well done to everyone who has been in our online classrooms today. Shout outs go today to Troy, Kian, Phoebe, Ashton, Cole and Nik for wonderful Maths and Pranav, Lauma and Jamilia for wonderful Expedition work.

A special shout out goes to Shyaw for his amazing diary entry as King Henry VIII. I’m sure you agree, it’s wonderful! Well done Shyaw, an amazing piece of work.

Dear Diary

I woke up ready for my morning breakfast. There’s nothing better than my morning phenomenal hot chocolate! It was an ordinary morning. I was tucked up in bed and I had nothing to do. When I get bored, the only activity that can entertain me is archery. Archery is the only activity that can raise my spirits. What more, the more I practice, the better I get! After a few hours of archery, I ordered my recruits to come in. They were my son’s recruits – he needed taking great care of. After all, he was going to be the future king. They recruits came in, and smiled grandly. I knew I had picked the right people to take care of Edward. I told them to sit down and introduce themselves.

I invited them to a mouth watering dinner. Having Edward getting along with his recruits was exciting to watch! Later, once we had stuffed ourselves up, I showed them around and told them what they had to do.

The recruits enjoyed some archery! We shot some powerful arrows which were my only precious tours of arrows! Then it became evening and I had a quiet supper. The recruits took excellent care of Edward. I really appreciated it. What a tremendous day!

King Henry VIII

Have a wonderful evening everyone, stay safe!

Remember to send your rainbows/NHS posters

Please remember you can also send in your videos of your families clapping at 8pm on a Thursday! You can be as creative as you like and the deadline is now Friday 9am to give you time to get everything in. Please email to [email protected]

It’s Wednesday already

Where has the week gone? It seems to be flying by. Today is going to be a scorcher so make sure you have your sun hats on and make sure you drink plenty of water.

Make sure you log in to our Google Classroom and let me know how you are before finishing off your Tudor diary entry and completing the last session on fractions.  In our Expedition learning today we are going to be finding out about Tudor food and don’t forget to carry on with your Tudor Home ready for Friday’s competition.

I hope you all have a great day! Enjoy the sunshine but don’t forget to put your sun cream on!

Today’s work

Another great day from everyone, well done to all of you who have logged on and got busy with your online learning.

I have seen some fantastic Fraction work today and shout outs go to Phoebe, Ashton, Cole, Nik, Arwa, Troy and Alfie. Well done to all of you!

Don’t forget about the Tudor Home competition. I hope you are all working hard to produce your Tudor Homes, I can’t wait to see your final products. Make sure you email me a photo of your masterpiece by Friday.

Finally, TTRockstars are currently running a Guiness World Record attempt to see who can achieve the highest score in 1 minute.  Log on and have a go…it could be you!

It’s competition time!

This week we will be having a competition to see who can build the best Tudor House. Yesterday you found out about traditional Tudor Homes and today in our Expedition lesson, we are asking you plan, build and critique your own Tudor House.

You can build it out of anything you want, the choice is yours! You can use old cardboard boxes, Lego, whatever you have available will be perfect.

There are prizes to be won so make sure you email a photo of your Tudor House to your class teacher by Friday 22nd May and Mrs Ogle will then choose a winner from each class.

Good luck everybody, we can’t wait to see what you create!
