Please could you keep hold of your glass jam/sauce jars over the Easter holidays, as years 3 and 4 will be using them to create their product for the new expedition and will need them during Hook week.
Please could you bring them to any member of staff after Easter.
Children in LKS2 have been working hard this week on producing Easter cards for their loved ones, but this year, there has been a very special message included in the cards.
We have learnt about the amazing Ukrainian tradition of making ‘Pysanky’, beautifully decorated eggs using coloured dyes and wax. Traditionally, the eggs carry messages through the use of symbols.
We have recreated our version of the ‘Pysanky’ and we have selected symbols to decorate them to send a message of hope to the Ukrainian people.
I hope our families enjoy the lovely colourful cards with a hidden message.
We held a celebratory community crew this morning in LKS2 to congratulate all the fantastic children that took part in Plover’s Got Talent yesterday.
I was a very proud Phase Leader, watching the courage and talent of the children that took part. from fabulous dancing to amazing artwork, great guitar playing to super song singing, joyous joke-telling to brilliant beat-boxing, all the children gave it their all and took their moment to shine.
I’m sure it was an afternoon they will remember for the rest of their lives – I know I will!
This week, we have been thinking about our future and what we will need to live the lives we dream of. We created ‘Dream Clouds’ filled with the homes, holiday and items of our dreams, if money were no object. Then we were given a job. There were all different careers , from professional footballer to nurse, computer animator to teacher! After finding out more about our job, we then created a reality cloud – we could not spend more money each month than we were earning.
The work challenged the children to think about what is a ‘need’ and what is a ‘want’ and it was interesting to compare how the children found the task according to their job.
I was so proud of the work and contribution everyone made to the tasks and the skills the children had to use to calculate the monthly expenses. Their discussion at the end of the day was very reflective and showed how seriously they had taken the activities.
Well done Ella, this week’s Pride of Plover for 3G. you have worked very hard over the last two weeks and I can see improvements all of the time. As well as that, you have been helpful and kind.
