Amazing learning.

Year 3, you have blown me away again with your enthusiasm to learning today. I have seen a lot more Tudor Roses appearing. Lauma did a great one. We have also had some excellent comprehension work from almost everyone who logged – it would take too long to name everyone!

There have been other great examples of independent learning on the new expedition. Shyaw and Esther did an exceptional job at the Tudor alphabet challenge. This was a really tricky challenge but you can see the research that went into it. As part of this, Esther made a discovery about the Nursery rhyme ‘Sing a song of Sixpence’. Look at what she discovered:

I look forward to seeing what new learning you all do tomorrow. Mrs Lewis is back in the classroom tomorrow so she can see all of the amazing things you have been doing.

Enjoy the rest of your day and stay safe.

Keen to learn.

Good morning Year 3!

I hope you are all up and ready for today’s exciting learning tasks. During her research, Esther spotted that yesterday was the anniversary of the date that Henry VIII became King of England – a fascinating fact! Let me know if you discover something interesting as you do research today.

I am looking after the classroom for both classes today so, as always, if you have any problems, just send me a question and I’ll try to help you through things.

Enjoy your day and I’ll see you over in the classroom shortly.

Maddison, Lucas and Lewis have been developing new skills this afternoon, learning how to animate a short film using stop-frame animation – the same technique used to make the Wallace and Gromit films!

I think you will agree that their first attempt is pretty impressive!

Another busy day.

Well done Year 3, you have all been so busy today! It has been great to see what you have been doing in your learning.

Cole, Alfie, Lauma and Shena did some excellent comprehension work from the first chapter of our new class texts.

Shyaw and Bradley did some excellent work on time in Maths. Keep it up!

Nikita, Lauma and Esther also did some excellent research for our new expedition and discovered what a Tudor Rose is. They then produced these excellent pictures of their own:

Keep up the enthusiasm and hard work!

See you all tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Good morning!

Good morning Year 3.

Day 2 of our awesome new expedition on Tudors and the exciting hook activities continue today. There is a nice practical activity for your expedition learning task today all based around the Tudor Rose. Log in to the classroom to find out more.

If you complete any excellent learning that you want to share, please send me any pictures and videos and some of them might be chosen to go on the blog at the end of the day.

I will be looking after the classroom today so please send me any questions you may have and I will try and help you out.

Make sure you at least complete the daily feelings check-in and I’ll see you all over in the classroom shortly.

Have a great day!

What a busy day!

It’s been brilliant seeing so many of you logging in today and engaging with our new expedition. Well done for being so keen! You have certainly kept me very busy today Year 3!

There has been some excellent learning today with Shena doing some excellent inference work, followed up with an excellent self-reflection of her learning.

Shashank, Harper and Alfie did brilliantly with the PE ‘Burpees’ challenge today. I’m not sure I could do as many as they did. If you missed it, go back and take a look. Let me know how you do.

Darcy has also been doing some early research into our new expedition and has sent me lots of pictures of some of the research she has been doing. Keep it up!

The learning will work best if you keep logging in every day so that you can follow the sequence of the lessons and learning. As well as the learning we set everyday, we also ask that you use TTRockstars, ReadTheory and Epic Reading at least twice a week for each one. You can choose when you do these but please set yourself a timetable of when you will do each one – it will be much easier to remember if you do!

See you all again tomorrow. Stay safe!

Light up the sky tonight 🌟

Tonight, people all over the country will be lighting up the sky with torches, phones and pictures of stars in their windows to show support for those suffering. Please get involved- share with your teachers your drawings and photos/videos of your families shining a light ✨

New new new!

Welcome to the start of a new week and, if you’ve had some down time over Easter, welcome back!

We have an exciting new expedition starting today: ‘Can you keep your heads?’ It is based on the Tudors and there are lots of hook week style activities over in Google classroom. Make sure you log in, complete the feelings check-in and then check out the new learning tasks. They will work best if you can log in and take part every day as this is the way that everything will make most sense.

Check it out and let me know how you get on. I look forward to seeing your fabulous learning. Don’t forget you can attach videos or photos to any of the assignments that we have set you so feel free to do this to show me your learning.

Have a fabulous day and head over to the classroom now!

Enjoy the weekend!

What a busy two weeks it’s been! I’ve seen such great Easter challenge work – well done to everyone who has taken part.

Thank you to every one who has logged on today. Shout outs go to Shyaw, Nik, Ashton, Kian, Felicity, Pranav and Zeynep, it’s been great to hear from you!

Remember to send in your videos for the toilet roll challenge, I can’t wait to see the video Miss Blackham create with all of your clips. I may have to send in a clip myself!

Mr Pickering will be keeping his eye out for you on Monday, I’m looking forward to speaking to you all next Thursday.

Enjoy your weekend, stay safe!
