Sunday, June 8th is the final day to order your class photos for free delivery back to school.  All orders placed by Midnight Sunday will be available to collect from school a week later.  To order go to www.pics4schools.com and use the security code on our previous message to view your full gallery of class photos.  Group photos are £12.50 each with a £3 discount when buying two or more (use the add code button to view class photos for more than one child).  Thank you to everyone that has ordered so far and helped to raise funds for our school.
This week we have been learning about the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79AD that buried the city of Pompeii.
We read the book ‘Escape from Pompeii’ and acted out some role plays as the main characters.
We have also been learning about rocks and the rock cycle this week, which culminated in our very own ‘Rock Museum’. We made posters to describe the rocks on display and the toured round looking at the different types of rocks and their properties. Who would have thought the rubble under our feet could be so interesting!

We loved having Catharine back in from the National Literacy Trust. She shared our key text ‘The Great Nursery Rhyme Disaster’ with the children and enjoyed singing a range of rhymes. Catharine very kindly brought all the children a copy of Goldilocks and the three bears to take home as well, to share with their families.

Today we have been exploring forces, learning 3 key words; force, push and pull. We tested out these forces by using tires and skipping ropes. We discussed how some of us found these quite easy and others more tricky.

The deadline for payment is June 1, 2025. This is to confirm that the trip can proceed with the coach company and venue.
Please can any outstanding payments be completed as soon as possible to allow us to decide whether the fieldwork is able to go ahead.
Unfortunately, if we don’t receive enough money, the trip will be unable to go ahead.

As part of our Summer Term expedition, North, East, South and West: Where will my journey take me?’, we would like to take the opportunity to take our KS1 children to complete fieldwork at the Yorkshire Air Museum.
Year 2 will visit on the 13th June 2025.
Year 1 will visit on the 3rd July 2025.
Payment and consent details are available on Parentpay. The cost of the trip is £22.00.
Please could we ask that payment and consent are completed as soon as possible to allow us to decide if the trip is viable to go ahead. Deadline for payment is 1st June 2025.
Unfortunately, if we don’t receive enough money the trip will be unable to go ahead.
