Years 5 and 6 enjoyed a challenging obstacle course where they had to trust their partners, use effective communication and show courage! Great to see Y5/6 still 5 more places available for this afterschool club with Mr Meade!

Well done to each of these amazing pupils. They have impressed both Mrs Chapman and myself so much today that we had to celebrate their successes and achievements!

5K completed their exit ticket today on case study 1 where they were geographers. It was brilliant to hear the children talking about biomes and using geographical language such as Southern Hemisphere so confidently and enthusiastically.
The pupils were busy learning about grid method in maths today! Lots of thinking and grappling was happening.

Well done to Elizabeth who has led her own learning at home and created this puzzle globe that links to our expedition. We have been learning about the continents and countries then focussing in on Venezuela.
Well done to Cole in 5T who stayed for a club and ended up completing home learning maths tasks with me – it was a pleasure to see your enthusiasm Cole when I know you have been worried about this subject before!
This afternoon we have worked in mini crews to compare the location that we live in with the city of Caracas – the capital city of Venezuela. There are both similarities and differences between these two locations. I wonder if there are any patterns which relate to the land use of these places.

Our yellow t-shirt is being worn by Demi-Lea this week. She has so much drive to succeed and wants to progress in her learning as much as possible. This has not gone unnoticed. Just look at her smileā¦

Students in Year 2, 3, 4 and 5 have an amazing opportunity to become a Digital Leader within their class.
This is a fantastic opportunity for children to develop their own individual skills when it comes to the latest technology. Children who are successful will get the opportunity to visit XP East and potentially the Apple Store to have further training on how to use technology including iPads, MacBooks and some of the other great products that are used throughout school. Our Digital Leaders will then become the experts who can then pass on their knowledge to others.
Below is a link to the Digital Leaders website where you can find out further information.

Applications will need to be sent to Miss Lotysz by Thursday 3rd February explaining why you would make a fantastic Digital Leader. This can be done in a format of your choice including a letter, slides or even a video showcasing your IT skills.
We look forward to receiving your applications!
There is a creative buzz around our room this morning while we begin to write the next chapter of our class novel. There have been some great storylines planned and I cannot wait to read the finished products later this week.
