We are environment explorers!

We had the pleasure a visiting Tropical World today and what a great day it has been! Seeing some of the animals that we have heard about during this expedition with our own eyes and experiencing the humidity of the rainforest versus the dryness of the air in the dessert was quite an experience. These photos show how much the children enjoyed, itā€¦

Tropical World

What a lovely day at Tropical World today. The children have learned lots about how we classify animals and how some species have adapted. The talk at Tropical World was fascinating and we all learned so much from the incredible knowledge shared by the staff. Then, after a lovely lunch, we looked around Tropical World. It was wonderful to see such a wide variety of animals and the biomes they are found in. I was really impressed with how the children read the information boards and really wanted to learn more about the species they were looking at. Their participation in the workshop was also superb and we had wonderful compliments from the staff. A special shout out has to go to Cole, who took his role as the meerkat very seriously! Here are the first batch of photos, Mrs Keir has some that I will add on tomorrow. #LovePlover

Safer Internet Day

On Tuesday, we raised awareness of Internet safety, especially whilst playing online games. The children spoke honestly and respectfully, and gave very grown up answers. What impressed me most was the way they resolved to make a change to the way they played games online. #LovePlover

We can coach our classmates!

We have been recapping how to convert between mixed numbers and improper fractions today. How brave were these members of 6H when they offered to model how they came to their answers! Well done for conquering those fear demons too. Keep going, everyone in 6Hā€¦together: ā€˜Weā€™ve got this!ā€™

You ā€˜nailed itā€™ today, Ksawery! 😃 l

Tomorrow, be prepared for adding and subtracting fractions without common denominators. Letā€™s keep increasing those arithmetic scores people!

More awesome home learning!

William is a home learning machine! I can always count on him for working as hard at home as he does in school. Well done young man – what a mature attitude you have!

More grappling with grids in 5T!

This afternoon, we enjoyed grappling with a different type of grid. This time, we used sudoku grids! Lots of the children were really excited about these and definitely needed to grapple with them! #LovePlover
