We are amazing!

All of these children have impressed either me (Mrs Haycock), Miss Blackham or Mrs Price today. This has been in a range of ways. Some of us have coached our peers who needed a little helping hand; some of us have led our own learning and chosen to carry on with our learning rather than take part in Plover Praise. Then there is William who is just point blank amazing. Mrs Price was incredibly impressed by his maths book.

Well done everyone!

We are mathematicians!

Year 6’s have been working hard, getting smart and being kind in maths this morning! They have been working collaboratively to find the area and perimeter of a number of shapes. The children had to explain why they had come to their answers and then they had to check in with another group to compare. It was amazing to see children using language such as ‘prove it’ when challenging their peers about their answers. I also want to give a shout out to those children who participated in the pre teach extended study- it really showed you knew your stuff this morning! Super stars every one of you!

Making a Stand

Wow! I am so proud of Anez, Haprer and Arwa. After learning about the impacts of deforestation, and reading the book, ‘Climate Action’, the girls were inspired to make a stand to Mrs Ogle about using the search platform Ecosia in school, rather than Google. Ecosia is an organisation that use their profit to fund planting trees to try and help reverse the effects of deforestation. Mrs Ogle and Mrs Graves were so impressed when the girls presented their ideas to the class, that they have sent them to Mr Ap Hari at XP! Well done girls, you are helping positively change our world. I can’t wait to hear back from Mr Ap Hari! #LovePlover

We are activists!

Year 5 have been preparing speeches against deforestation; its causes, effects and how to reverse it.

Well done on using the success criteria to give specific and helpful critique 5K.
