Let’s send Tom a birthday card!

I am sure lots of you have seen this amazing gentleman raising millions of pounds for our NHS. We would love to send him some birthday cards for his 100th birthday on the 30th April. If you would like to make Tom a card, please share them with your teachers or with me [email protected] by next Thursday- this could be a simple ‘happy birthday Tom’ poster which you are holding and your parents take a photo of and email in. We will then create a special booklet of your photos to send him! Let’s make this heroes day by sending him as many special Plover birthday wishes as possible!

Who are you isolating for?

Thank you so much to all children, parents, carers and staff for getting involved in this weeks video. The Olly Murs video will be shared next Friday– so you still have time to get involved and send your videos to [email protected]

Check us out on facebook ‘Plover primary school’ and give us a share!

We need your help- send us your photos!

We need as many of you as possible to write and tell us who you are isolating for so we can continue with a little project! Please tell us who are you isolating for by simply writing on a piece of paper and sharing your photo to [email protected]

It might be for your grandparents who you are missing, your family, your school friends, your country etc!

You can be as creative as you like! Above are some examples being modelled by the lovely Lacie and Bethannie! The deadline for these photos is Thursday at 4pm to be featured in this Friday’s video- get involved, we need you!

Song Challenge

https://youtu.be/CVgrp_Ay4Kw

How about getting your vocal chords warmed up and taking part in our song challenge?

We would like to join in with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s challenge to sing Any Dream Will Do and see our children perform the song.

So, can you practise the song ‘Any Dream Will Do’ from Joseph using the youtube backing track (link shared on this blog) and then get your grown up to film you performing it.

Send your videos to [email protected] and we will make a compilation, as well as share with Andrew Lloyd Webber! (Grown-ups – Please only send videos if you are happy for your child to be seen online.)

Not sure of the words? Here is a link to the lyrics! https://www.stlyrics.com/lyrics/josephandtheamazingtechnicolordreamcoat/anydreamwilldo.htm

School Meal Vouchers

It is very likely that soon we will be moving to a school meal voucher system to replace the cold packed lunches that we are currently offering, as we will not have dinner staff on site.

School meal vouchers will be issued to anyone currently entitled to Free School Meals.

If you feel that you may be entitled to a Free School Meal, but have never applied, please don’t worry, it is not too late!

Applications can be made online via the link below and you will get an instant response if you are eligible. You will need your own name and date of birth, contact details, national insurance number or national asylum seekers number, your child’s name and date of birth, and the name of our school, Plover Primary.

If you are eligible, please either email or bring proof into school (can be on your mobile phone) and we will process your request.

If you need any help with the application, please contact school and someone will be available to support you.

A big ‘thank you’

Tracy, our cleaner, would like to say a big Thank You to all the children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6, for how much they have looked after the toilets this last week. She is so proud of you all and you have really helped to make her job less difficult.

Well done, I am really proud of you to and want to send a special Thank You to our volunteers who have been keeping an eye out at beak and lunchtime.

Busy Week for Year 3 and 4

We have had a busy week this week in Year 3 and 4. On Tuesday afternoon, we held our first Parent’s Information / Family Learning Event. It was well attended and we had the opportunity to share how to support children with times tables and reading at home. Parents then got the chance to try a few activities for themselves with their children.

We have been busily working on completing our High Energy Expedition work all week, which is now with the Graphic Designer, Rick. We look forward to seeing what our amazing Chocolate Information Boards are going to look like.

Finally, we had NSPCC Number Day on Friday, when we came to school dressed in a number and had a day of maths investigations and learnt some important messages about staying safe.
