Fabulous First Day for 3G!

What a wonderful day! it was so great to finally gather all of my new class together and to get to know each other a little bit.

Some children arrived excited, whilst others were a bit nervous and some of admitted to having a whole mixture of feelings!

We shared a lovely story “The World Needs Who You Were Made To Be” and discussed all the ideas shared though it. We decided that everybody is different but the important thing is to be kind.

Using the book as a theme, we began creating ‘All About Me’ Hot Air Balloons, that we will be using to decorate the classroom.

I have thoroughly enjoyed meeting my new class together and I am really looking forward to the learning adventures we will have together this year.

Check out tomorrow’s blog for photos and more.

Lots of learning

The children have explored their new provision today. They have shared and taken turns inside and outside. They have been a pleasure to teach.

I am looking forward to learning in our provision areas tomorrow. The children were also very good at tidying away.

Welcome back 6H!

We’ve had fun getting to know each other in 6H today by playing a variety of different icebreaker games. We have been able to maturely discuss the ‘Norms’ that we would expect to see from all members of the class and have set ourselves personal pledges that are challenging but achievable.

I am really looking forward to tomorrow’s Crew Day visit to Ninja Warrior in Sheffield. Just another little reminder that you will need to arrive at school in appropriate clothing: sports wear (preferably full length joggers/leggings which would protect your skin from possible friction burns). In addition, you will require a packed lunch and an extra water bottle would also be a good idea. If the online permission waiver has not yet been completed please do so as a matter of urgency. The link for this can be found on the upper KS2 phase blog – all pupils were shown how to find this in school today so should be able to help their parents/carers to find it.

Thank you for a great first day 6H…let’s rock this year together!

SPORTS DAY

Hi Plover Parents,

It has been fantastic to see so many children and staff back in school today for our first day back! 🙂

This Thursday 2nd September is KS1 and KS2 Sports day – a celebration for all the community to enjoy, heading into (hopefully) a smoother year!

Parents are INVITED and can access the school field from 9.15am. Chairs/benches will be out on the concrete for parents to sit and watch the track events.

There will be an ice-cream van on the playground for children to purchase an ice cream (with parents supervision) after their running races.

The sports day will look and run slightly different from previous sports days, however we just want it to be a positive and fun start to the year for all children to take part in! It will consist of track races, field events and fun activities.

9.30am-10.30am:

  • KS1 fun events
  • LKS2 track/running events
  • UKS2 field events

10.30am-11.30am:

  • LKS2 fun events.
  • UKS2 track/running evenKS1 field events

11.30am-12.30am:

  • UKS2 fun events.
  • KS1 track/running events
  • LKS2 field e

We ask for children to come in their PE kits and to wear an item of clothing which represents their CREW colour ed, yellow, blue). This may be difficult as your child may have changed crews and may not know their colour, so don’t worry their full PE kit is absolutely fine.

Any questions, please ask your class teacher or email Mr Meade on [email protected]

We look forward to seeing you all support your superstars!

Welcome 2B!

I have had a great day getting to know the new class 2B! We’ve talked about class norms that we want to establish in our new class and what being smart, kind and working hard looks like. I’ve particularly enjoyed the outdoor games today and I’m so pleased it was dry enough for us to play name chase! See you all again tomorrow for some team building games and make sure you bring back those permission slips for our trip on Friday. Remember we have sports day too and parents are welcome – you can arrive from 9:15. Thank-you class 2B I hope you’re all slightly less nervous tomorrow morning – I know I will be!

The New 1M :)

It has been an absolute pleasure welcoming my new class into Year 1 🙂

They have been kind, inquisitive, calm and hard working!

We have been doing lots of different transition activities to get to know each other a little bit more, learn about our new KS1 environment and set class expectations and norms which we all agreed to follow as part of 1M crew!

All children achieved 3s/4s in their HOWLs and so may it continue… well done to those superstars who earned a sticker, crew coin or Plover Praise postcard!

See you all tomorrow,

Mr Meade

First day completed!

We have been busy settling in and the children were asked to sum up the day in one word. Some of the words were incredible, exciting, amazing, fun, okay and different! Overall, a good day was had by all.
