On Thursday 5th May, Boggledybook are visiting Plover School. They have books available for purchase for all ages across the primary age range. Book are brand new and cost either ÂŁ1, ÂŁ2 or ÂŁ3. We hope to see you visiting next week! #LovePlover

Year 4 times table booster

Year 4 times tables boosters are starting this week every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30. Children will register themselves and enter through the office. Plenty of times tables activities are available to prepare them for the times table check in June. A tasty brioche roll is also offered to all taking part.

At 3:15 tomorrow there will be a meeting in the hall available to all year 4 parents to to discuss the times table check and answer any questions.

Year 4 P.E

Good morning,

During this half term, Year 4 pupils will have P.E on a Monday. Please can we ask that all children have a correct kit on this day. This should consist of a plain white T-shirt, navy or black shorts and trainers that are different from their school shoes. We will be doing outdoor P.E as much as the weather allows so we will also be allowing plain tracksuit bottoms.

The kids have had a fab hook week. They’ve worked collaboratively to uncover their guiding question, decorated the classroom, designed a label for their product, learnt about the process of making sugar and evaluated some sugary treats.

I hope you’re as exited as I am to start the first case study next week!

Got a sweet tooth? You’ll love the LKS2 summer Expedition!

‘Serious about Sugar; Passionate about People’ is the Year 3 and 4 expedition for this term. Throughout the expedition, we will be investigating the question “Why is sugar NOT so sweet?” by being historians in our first case study, scientists in our second case study and by being designers in our final case study.

The children were quite excited when I told them that our final product was going to be a jar of sweets they were going to make themselves.

Letters have gone home this evening about our field trip in May to Brodsworth Hall. There is currently an exhibition at the hall that is directly linked to our first case study and it will be a great opportunity for the children to see with their own eyes, how their local area was so closely linked to significant events in history.

We have had a great start to the exhibition and the children were very good at identifying how seemingly unconnected objects were linked to our expedition and beginning to create decorations to immerse our classroom!

Introducing our new expedition

Today 3LS faced the challenge of working out our newest expedition title and guiding question.First we investigated lots of sweet clues around the room and had to work out what they had in common.

What a fun first day back we have had today in 4L. Our guiding question for expedition is ‘why is sugar not so sweet?’ And the children are excited at the thought of exploring sweets.
