Monday 4th May

Good morning, I hope you had a good weekend.

Something a little different this week, we are going to do a mini expedition this week, to help us understand the events of VE Day, so we know a little bit more about the 75th anniversary on Friday.

There will be some practical challenges for you and you can even get your family involved. Later in the week you will be planning a street party – so you could ask your adults if you could bring it to life on Friday – following social distance rules of course.

I have had some great photos of reading in a funny place and I am going to award the prize at 12 o’clock today – so if you have a photo to send me, please do it this morning , if you want a chance to win!

Have a great day!

Stay safe,

Mrs Graves

Rainbow Tree of Thanks

Our children in school have been so busy creating a beautiful tree of thanks to the Key Workers of the NHS.

Friday 1st May

Good Morning,

Welcome to May and to Pyjamarama day!

Yes you have an excuse to stay in your pyjamas and read books – and if your grown ups say anything, you can say Mrs agraves told me to ……. but you have to be reading of course!!

There are some fun activities for you to complete online linked to reading because today is about promoting sharing bedtime stories with people you love – as bedtime stories are so good at any age.

It would be great to see you and hear how you have been reading, so today at 11 o’clock we will be having a Google Meet – so follow the link that you will find on Google classroom and we’ll be able to see and talk to friends – I might even share a story. I’ll be sharing who our Pride of Plover is during the meet – I might even be in my Pyjamas!

I have been trying to share a book reading with you – but I’m having a few technical problems – so check back later if I am successful.

This week’s school video is Amarillo and it is the best yet – you’ll find it on the blog and the Plover school Facebook page.

Next week’s video will be YOUR photos of unusual places you have been reading in your pyjamas (following Covid guidelines of course!) So take pics and send to me!!!

There will be prizes from your work today so get it submitted!!!

I am hoping to find a way of sharing the film Bedtime Stories with you – we will be watching it in school today – so if you can watch it, please do – it is one of my son’s favourite film.

Have a lovely day, so lots of reading and get creative – you should take lots of time to make your work the best it can be!

Mrs Graves

Happy birthday Captain Tom!

Thank you to everyone who sent in a card for Captain Tom! We have sent this video to his daughter and can’t wait for him to see it! We hope you enjoy it and remember to get involved in our Amarillo video which will be shared tomorrow!

Thursday 30th April

Good Morning!

Happy 100th Birthday Captain Tom Moore!!

The sun is shining again today, but it is a bit cooler than it was last week.

There are a mixture of activities for you to do today and expedition will give you the opportunity to get creative

Have you sent your Peter Kay Amarillo Marching dance to Miss Blackham yet? She needs it by 4pm today.

I’m in school today and tomorrow, so I may not be able to reply to comments straight away, but Mr Whitfield will be watching out for any questions you may have.

Take care, keep safe,

Mrs Graves

Tomorrow is Pyjamarama day!

Tomorrow we need you in your PJs ALL day! We also need your selfies with you reading books, watching films, playing in the garden (anything at all) but in your pyjamas! Just like these two superstars above!
We also have a competition as to who can read a book in the funniest place at home- be as creative as you can!

Please spread the word! Years 5/6 teachers will be reading to their classes on ‘google hangout’ at 10am, so be online ready to accept your invites!

Wednesday 29th April

Good Morning,

It’s a bit cooler today and there may be a bit of rain, so what better excuse do you need to settle down with today’s online activities!

After doing your maths meeting, I’d like you to get onto Times Tables Rock Stars and have a good practice and then let me know your sound check – I want to do some shout outs for the most improved.

After reading chapter 5 of the Tudor Tales, I would like you do work on diary entries and write a diary entry of your own from a rather unusual point of view.

You will be continuing your historical investigation into Henry VIII in expedition – you should be becoming quite the expert now.

Just a reminder that we are going to have a Google Meet together on Friday – watch out for the link on the  Google Classroom page and I will be giving you more information tomorrow about Pyjamarama day.

If you have made a birthday card for Captain Tom Moore, please could you email it to Mrs Blackham by 4pm today so she can email the video to him in time for his birthday.

Take care, stay home, keep safe!

Mrs Graves

I will be emailing Captain Tom’s daughter his birthday video from Plover featuring all of your cards and messages. If you want to be included please email your photos to [email protected]
