Beads and bangles

EYFS are planning ahead to September and we are having a focus on domestic role play. We are looking for beads, bangles, hats, scarves, handbags, waistcoats etc. We would also like metal teapots, milk jugs and sugar bowls. If anybody is having a clear out and would like to donate to school we would appreciate it.

If you have other items you think we could use please contact me [email protected].

Learning to sign

Thank you to Mrs Creswell for coming to talk to us about how we can help our friends who find it difficult to hear. We practiced some signing, learnt some new words and we have been challenged to sign Baa baa black sheep. I am sure that we can learn it.

We’re going on a pair hunt

We have been learning about pairs in maths. We can sort objects into pairs and some of us can count in 2s too. We went on a hunt for pairs around school. There were lots!

A pair of girls with a pair of plaits each.
A pair of poorly knees.
A pair of hats and a pair of dragon feet.
A pair of potato mashers

Healthy Eating

As part of our Healthy Eating week we have had a delivery of different fruits to try. Today we have tasted blueberries and kiwis. We loved the hairy feel of the kiwis and the taste made us pull funny faces. The blueberries were a big hit too. I wonder

We are artists

Ms Foster came to talk to the children today about being an artist. She showed us how to draw dragons and she said they are her favourite thing to draw.

Some of the children chose to colour their dragon. Ms Foster showed the children how to colour and keep in the lines.

These are some of our pictures.

There were some fantastic pictures. Well done F2 artists. Thank you Ms Foster for helping us learn how to draw dragons.

Postcards to be proud of

Here are 5 of our super stars from F2! They’re all amazing in their own special ways. We’ve been celebrating more achievements this week with our brand new postcards. Children have received postcards for working hard, being kind, making huge improvements and even just for being lovely little human beings!

I wonder how many different postcards you can earn. Will you e able to collect one of each colour before the end of the summer term?

Reader of the week

The winner of our weekly bookmark competition this week was George. George read every day and returned his reading log daily. It was a tough call as a few children drew with George but George was drawn as the winner. Well done George!

Remember to read at least three times per week with a grown-up and make sure they sign your reading log to be in with a chance of winning this Friday.

You should be returning it every day, even if you haven’t read as we like to read at school too.
