Non Uniform Day Wednesday – COME ON ENGLAND!

Hi all,

With England’s fantastic result in the Quarter Finals on Saturday. We here at Plover are going to show our support by having a England themed non-uniform day on Wednesday, as England are playing in the Semi-Final on Wednesday evening!

If you don’t have England kits, don’t worry, you can wear other football shirts, PE/sports clothes or something red and white to represent England!

Could it finally be coming home?

Sandall Beat Woods – Transition Trip Reminder

Hello everybody 🙂

Just a polite reminder – can all the current F2 and Year 1 children trip slips be handed back in to your child’s current class teacher by the end of this Wednesday 30th June.

This gives our kitchen staff time to prepare packed lunches, us arranging parent volunteers for the trip, as well as finalising final details regarding the school trip.

Attached is a reminder of the school trip letter your child will have recieved.

Kind regards

Mr Meade

Great Readers

F2S have been working really hard in phonics and we are beginning to see the impact on reading. Well done to all of the children who have moved up a reading shelf this week and a big well done to George.E, Hasty, Charlotte and Helen-Rose who almost know all of their first 100 words. I wonder who is going to complete them first? It’s very close!

Fruit tasting

F2S enjoyed tasting lots of different fruits last week. I am proud to say everyone tried every single fruit and lots came back for seconds, thirds and even fourths!

I think lots of children were surprised at how many fruits they liked. Pineapple and mango were very popular. Which was your favourite?

Reader of the Week

Our reader of the week was Hasty! It was a close call as there were 3 girls who all read and returned their book and reading log every day. It’s no coincidence that these three are making great progress in their reading too.

Well done Hasty, Charlotte and Helen-Rose!

Ice-pop sale!

Today we managed to raise £60 on our ice pop sale so thank you so much to everyone who bought one. Some children were too excited to eat their ice pops that they didn’t want a photo. We know some children had forgotten their money so please don’t worry, we will be selling ice pops again next week.
