Well done to our TTRockstars winners this week and to Crew Lotysz for being the overall TTRockstars champions for last week.
This week’s tournament is up and running, let’s see who will be next week’s winners.
Year 5 and 6 have done an incredible job researching the history of Doncaster. They have been a credit to the school and our community. We have had many comments from the public about their impeccable behaviour and respect for others, whilst enthusiastically learning.
Well done crew 5/6!
5L have been working hard perfecting their train drawings as part of their final product.
Year 5 had discovered what athletics is all about yesterday morning. They discussed the meaning of quick reactions and reflexes. They were then tested on their reaction skills with a game to see who could get the correct colour the fastest to get points. The children then were split into groups of 3 so their running skills could be worked on. One child was the coach, one was timing the runner, and the last running, to which they all took turns. I saw great teamwork being displayed and was super impressed by the enthusiasm shown!
Today more children have been exploring and learning about our historic heritage around Doncaster on our Fieldwork.
Please make sure children are wrapped up warm for the trips this week, with sensible shoes. We will be outside walking for approximately 2 hours.
We are starting the first of our fieldwork visits tomorrow, class 6R and some of 6B are going tomorrow.
5L/6B – Wednesday
6T/6B – Thursday
5M – Friday
Please send your child’s consent form and £2 tomorrow
Please see the attached letter we sent home for your information:
Dear Parents and Carers,
In the week commencing 8th January, your child will be taking part in fieldwork to Doncaster town centre.
This fieldwork has been planned to support their learning in Expedition and is a brilliant opportunity to bring the students’ learning to life in an exciting and engaging way. The experience will be used to support learning back in the classroom to help the children better understand the content and develop a deeper understanding of the industrial revolution in Doncaster. The event will cover the following:
The total cost of the trip will be £2.00, which will be the cost of the bus fare, this will be taken in cash onto the bus. All monies will have to be paid to your child’s class teacher prior to the field trip in order for them to take part.
Please ensure your child has sensible shoes and a coat for the fieldtrip. If you have any questions about this fieldwork, please contact your class teacher who will discuss it in further detail.
With thanks,
Miss Blackham
Assistant Headteacher
and UKS2 lead

6B have been continuing to work as artists today and drawing using perspective. They were inspired by the work of Stephen Wiltshire and his cityscape sketches. They were so excited to have a go at their own city scales this afternoon!
Ask your children to share a fact about Stephen Wiltshire!

Mel Hewitt from XP visited us today to show year 5 how to draw trains and teach them about perspective and the vanishing point. The children enjoyed seeing her amazing drawings and made a great start on having a go at their own drawings.
