We have had a lovely afternoon in the woods for our celebration of learning. Thank you so much to all of the families that came along to support us, we really appreciate it.
The children enjoyed singing to their grown ups and then hiding their pebbles, before looking for other peoples.
If you’re out and about in Sandal Beat Woods, have a look if you can see any of our pebbles and upload some pictures to the Doncaster Rocks Facebook page for others to find/re-hide.

Well done Thea for getting our yellow T-shirt this week. You have been a really kind friend and done some amazing singing and signing in preparation for the nativity and our celebration. You have also been to school every single day this week, wow, keep it up Thea!

This week we have been reading ‘Leaf Man’ by Lois Ehlert. We used items from outdoors and the classroom to create our own leaf men pictures. We were very creative!

Today we have been working on our motor skills. We listened to different styles of music and discussed the base/pitch/speed and discussed how this made us feel. We used our gross motor skills to create large and small movements whilst listening to the music and discussed how everyone’s patterns were different even though we had all done the same thing, just like our feelings can be.

This week we have been looking at the story ‘We’re Going On A Leaf Hunt’. The children helped to choose actions to help retell the story and have been super storytellers. Here is a little snippet of our fabulous storytelling.

Last night some elves snuck into our classroom and transformed it into a winter wonderland! The children have really enjoyed exploring the Christmas areas in their role play and completing the first Christmas challenges set by Eddie the Elf.

Well done to Skyla who got our yellow T-shirt this morning! Skyla has really impressed us with her singing and signing during nativity practise this week and has had lovely manners towards both staff and peers. Skyla also worked really hard on her calendar, using her fine motor skills to scrunch up the bits of tissue paper she needed to create her picture. Well done Skyla, keep working hard, getting smart and being kind.
