Please read…

I’m sure everybody is aware of the the incident which took place on the way to school for one of our students today.

Although I’ve not been in school today, I was informed straight away and have been in constant contact with the staff team to ensure all our children are safe.

Due to the mature way in which our student made school staff aware this morning, the matter was dealt with effectively with both parents and the police being alerted straight away. Unfortunately, as we all know what can happen with social media, messages were confused and incorrect information was subsequently reported in the Doncaster Free Press.

As frustrating as this was at incorrect information being reported in the press, my prime concern as always was that your children were safe. We as a school team then worked quickly to get the correct information to you as soon as possible via our text message service and website.

I hope the events of today and miscommunication hasn’t caused too much unnecessary upset and I would like to thank parents and carers for the support they have shown of our school.

We cannot underestimate the seriousness of what happened this morning and whilst all children have had a class circle today to discuss the dangers of strangers and how to keep themselves safe when out in the community, please can I ask you to discuss this further with your child.

Finally, let’s hope such times as these are few and far between, however please check the front page of our website regularly for important information as it’s the easiest way to reach everybody in such situations. Please also remember you can subscribe to our website meaning you will receive all blogs from within school to your personal email account.

Thanks

Mrs Ogle
