Compassion in 4B

On the third day of Crew Week, the class completed some activities to demonstrate the character trait: compassion. We took part in the colour run to raise funds for the school as well as our charity the RSPCA. We also completed a kindness chain to display the kind acts we have done some far this year which we will hopefully add to as the year progresses. Finally, we decorated our own baby egg which we had to show compassion and care for to make sure it didn’t crack.

Well done 4B, we have shown what a kind and compassionate class we can be!

Races in F2

The children enjoyed doing different races in outdoor provision and it was great to see the children continue and make up their own races! #LovePlover

Fun in PE

We had lot’s of fun in our first PE session today. We have been climbing, running, jumping and rolling using different equipment. Look what we got up to …

Hand washing – keeping our bodies healthy!

Today we have learnt how to keep our bodies healthy, by learning to wash our hands. We used glitter to represent germs and practised washing our hands thoroughly using soap. We noticed that if you just dip your hands in the water the germs don’t come off, you need to soap to wash them properly.

We learnt the song “wash wash wash our hands, wash our hands all day. Wash wash wash our hands, wash the germs away”.

UKS2’s first community crew of the year!

What a fantastic start to the school year in our first ever community crew! Our crews went head to head in numerous games to win the title of out first number one crew! We looked at the character trait ‘courage’ to encourage children to be confident in nominating themselves to join in the community crew games.

Superstars!

Our first day together in F2BP

What a beautiful day we have had together. We learned our first letter, m’. In maths, we learned that we can subitise. This means we can say what we can see and not need to count groups of objects to three. We also had our first PE lesson. We learned the rules in PE to keep us safe and how to move around the space without banging into each other. WHAT A DAY! We all agree- your children are amazing and we are so happy to have such a wonderful class of children.

F2 PE and Bike Riding

Today we had our first PE lesson, learning how to move our bodies in different ways – focussing on the fundamentals. Then some children enjoyed riding on their bikes and trikes. #LovePlover

Colour run fun!

We have been working on the character trait compassion. Yesterday, we held our colour run and raised money for the RSPCA (our whole school charity) and for school funds. We are determined to support our school and wider community this year.

Thank you all for your support with the colour run, we hope your children enjoyed it!

3G’s ‘Eggcellent’ compassion day

Today’s character trait has been ‘compassion’.

As part of the day, we have shown compassion to our ‘Baby Eggs’, who needed clothing, shelter and care – we had great fun using our imagination to create them.

Then it was the colour run in aid of our school and chosen charity the RSPCA (that we learnt about yesterday). Despite a few early drops of rain, we had great fun turning ourselves into colourful rainbows!!

2P have courage!

Yesterday’s character trait that we learnt about was courage. We discussed how we need courage when we are challenged with things that can make us feel uncomfortable. We learnt this by dancing in the cheerleading style. This was very challenging for some of us (including me!) but we all showed bravery and courage and gave it a good go. We now need to practise our routine a few more times before we perform it in front of the rest of the Key Stage. The final act of courage!
