Year 3 PE

Today, year 3 continued practicing the haka they have been working very hard on improving and perfecting. We have worked in groups to make it even better by adding in scary, angry and brave poses and movements. We then shared to the class our results.

Year 4

Today, year 4 had worked on improving their haka that they had already created by adding in more steps. They got into groups of 4 or 5 and chose their leaders who would make sure there was no errors and make sure everyone is in unison.

4B PE

In this weeks PE, the children perfected their Hakka routine. First, we did a fun warm up of musical statues showing off our favourite dance moves. Then, we recapped the steps of the Hakka as a class and broke out into small groups to perform it in unison. Shout out to Elijah, Caleb and Kodish who were our PE supper stars for being brave enough to perform their routine in front of the whole class! You were fabulous!

Year 3 PE

Today, the children has been consolidating their learning about the haka by talking about the different poses. They worked in their groups to share ideas of what a haka should look like, using the ideas of different themes to help them (e.g. shapes, animals).
It has been great to see most children present their work at the end!

3SG Haka in P.E.

3SG had great fun working in groups to create their own Haka (a ceremonial dance of the Maori people) as part of our dance module in PE.

It was great to see your ideas and scary faces!

Year 4 PE

Today, year 4 watched videos of how a professional player would do the haka dance with his arms and hands, before attempting it themselves in steps. They worked in pairs to critique and provide feedback on how to improve the performance and in the end, the children all performed together with facial expressions. It resulted in a terrifying but amusing performance!
