The amazing Leicester Patron of Reading, Steve Skidmore, has launched his very own story writing competition especially for Off School!Take your mind into an Imaginary world using the hints and tips Steve has put together in the series of four videos below containing great advice and ideas and watch Steveâs competition launch video with all the competition details youâll need. There are great prizes to be won for each Key Stage (KS): KS1, Lower KS2, Upper KS2 and KS3!Prizes include a signed book AND the opportunity to have your story read on video by Steve himself!ÂReady to take the challenge? As we continue to teach a lot of our children online through either ‘Evidence Me’ or ‘Google Classroom’ we would like to extend our contact further by a weekly ‘Google Classroom Hangout’.
Every teacher will host a weekly class catch-up as per the details in the table below.
Please encourage your child to join this as regular contact with their friends and class teacher will help them continue to feel a part of their school community. This will also support with the the safeguarding monitoring we are required to do during this time.

Calling all budding artists! J.K. Rowling is inviting you to help illustrate The Ickabog for her. Every day when chapters of the story are uploaded, she will be making suggestions for what you might like to draw or paint to illustrate the story as it goes along. You should let your imagination run wild!
The best bit is, if you are between seven and twelve years old, your parent or guardian on your behalf can enter your drawings or paintings into the official competition being run by J.K. Rowlingâs publishers, for a once in a lifetime chance to be featured in The Ickabog book, which is published in November. The competition is now open in the UK!
