In maths, we have already learned to subitise. That means we don’t need to count objects and pictures up to three. We can just say what we see. Now, we are looking at what four is. We made four with one and one and one and one. We explored what else it can be made of. Some of us made it with two and two, three and one, one and three or a tall tower, or four in a row. Sooo many ways of making four! It’s so exciting that we have so many more numbers to explore together this year!

Ping Pong Pete
Yesterday, Year 5 had great fun playing Ping Pong with Ping Pong Pete! The children were full of energy and enthusiasm as they got stuck into the game, and it was wonderful to see how quickly they picked up the rhythm and the new skills.
Everyone really impressed me with how well they listened to each other. They worked hard on taking turns and waiting patiently, which made the activities run smoothly and kept it fun for everyone. There was lots of cheering, encouragement, and laughter as they practised new skills — and they soon showed they were pretty good at it too!
Playing Ping Pong with Pete gave the children the chance to practise important skills like coordination, timing, and teamwork. It was also a fantastic way to build confidence, as each child had the chance to step forward and join in.
Thank you Pete and well done, Year 5 — you showed great focus, cooperation, and enjoyment. I can’t wait to see you developing even more new skills as the term goes on!

Working hard making cards
Today we have been working hard making cards, drawing ourselves and writing our names. We read the story ‘It’s my birthday’ then shared how birthdays make us feel and things we’ve have done at our birthdays! #LovePlover
We Are Artists
F1 have been working hard to draw pictures of themselves. We worked hard on remembering to draw bodies and add detail to our drawings, using shapes to build up our pictures.
Some children also worked extra hard, trying to write their names on their pictures.

Balance Coordination in PE
In PE we continued to develop our gross motor skills and fundamental movements, agility, balance, coordination. We played the bean game, birthday candle tig, then bounced, jumped, hopped in hoops, on stepping stones and over coloured spots. #LovePlover
