Monday 11th May

Good morning 6H,

If you feel anything like me this morning, you’re probably a little all over the place.  For those of you who haven’t remembered, today would have been the first of your real SATs exams.  I know there are a few of you who are relieved that they are not going ahead but I am also perfectly aware that many of you – the majority of you – are incredibly disappointed because you wanted to challenge yourselves and show everyone how hard you have worked to make progress over your primary years.

Please know this 6H…you are all superstars!  You have all made me (and your previous teachers) super proud over the time we have spent together and…to be honest I’m at a bit of a loss for words and that says it all as you know I can use a million words when only ten are actually needed!

I look forward to June when we may be able to see each other again to give you all the end of year celebrations that you so clearly deserve.

Keep smiling and be proud to be Plover – I know I am!

To our year 6’s

Dear year 6,

This week you should have been sitting your SATs but as we experience uncertain times, this week is going to be a little different to every other year before it (some of you may be pleased haha) but deep down we all know you have worked so hard your whole primary school life towards these and although they are not everything, we know how much you wanted to sit them to prove to yourselves and the world just how much you have learnt.

I just want to let you know, that as we wake up this morning in these very strange times, I couldn’t be any prouder of you and no score on any paper could come close to the feeling of pride you have given me and the fellow year 6 team and the entire Plover community. You have coped so well being off school, not being able to see your family and friends. You have worked hard at home whether that be on google classrooms or experiencing other learning activities with your families and it has certainly shown us (even though we already knew) how amazing you all truly are. We know you’ll go up to secondary school as the fabulous students of Plover Primary School that we know you all are and with the results you deserve. So stand proud this week, smile and remember you are all amazing, you are all wonderful and so, so special. We really do hope to see you all soon for the leaving celebrations you deserve! #wearecrew💙

Pride of Plover Time!

Who will be awarded this week’s virtual yellow T shirt I wonder?

Well, if you know you have submitted work everyday since we went into lock down, it could be you!

If you have taken part in pretty much every additional challenge that has been set by Miss Blackham, it could be you.

If you are a boy, it could be you.

If you use your manners impeccably – all the time, it could be you.

If you help others in your family with their learning, it could be you.

If your initials are DC, it is you!

Well done Dominik – your really are a leader of your own learning and I am so very proud of you.  Especially for helping Lena and your mum out too.  What an amazing young man you are!

Have a great V.E. day everyone and remember: We wouldn’t be living in a world of freedom like we are (despite our current pandemic situation) if it weren’t for the greatest generation who risked and lost their lives by fighting for our country.

VE Day

Today is VE and we have joined up with Green Top Primary to share some of our celebrations so far. Please send us any pictures you take from today of you celebrating at home.

Next week’s video will be our exercise video- this can be any form of exercise from dancing, running, kick ups, bike riding, trampolining (all with social distancing in mind). Please email your pictures to [email protected]

Thursday 7th May

Morning 6H!

Guess what?  I’ve finally finished the book that I have been reading for the past six months! What a disappointing ending though – it just kind of stopped like the author’s pen had run out of ink or something.  I hope you guys are able to find the odd moment to enjoy a good book – hopefully with a better ending than the one I have just read though!

It’s almost VE day and the village I live in has been decorated to the hilt.  There’s bunting galore, posters, banners and Union Jacks flying high.  How will you celebrate our greatest generation’s achievements?

Have a wonderful day.

Mrs H 🙂

More fabulous work!

Shout out to Liam, Ruby, Charlie and Lucas who have sent in some fantastic work yesterday! I really enjoyed reading your work and critiquing it. You are superstars! Your challenge today is to watch the Carries war animations I have posted in our blogs and complete a film review to share!
Remember to keep checking in and please email us if you need anything!

Wednesday 6th May

Good morning campers!

It’s another beautiful morning in my village – the birds are singing, the sun is shining and, according to the weather forecast on my phone, it’s going to stay shining all day!

Well done and thank you (as always) to those of you who are sending me work to keep my fingers busy on the keyboard.

Shout outs to Dominik and Cailey for responding so well to the critique your parents gave you on your first drafts of your Greek god images.

Additional shout out to Emily for producing detailed English work when she was feeling poorly.  I hope you feel better today, Ems.

Have a great day 6H – I look forward to reading your stories later on.

Mrs H 🙂

Send in your VE Day posters!

Tomorrow, at 4pm, is the deadline for VE Day posters, singing and waving/waving flags to be included in our school trust video. Please email [email protected] to request some lines (there are a few left).
I love George’s poster and he looks great with his solider helmet!
Keep up the good work everyone, you are doing great on google classrooms. Your extra challenge today is to research facts about VE Day. I am always online years 5/6 so if you need anything please email me!
