Hello 3G

This is my first post for my new class 3G!

I am really looking forward to getting to know you better and I am sorry we can’t be in school to talk in person but here are some facts about me for now:

I have two children , Tom is at University in Lincoln studying science and Harry is about to go into Year 11 at school. Both boys love rugby and one of my favourite things to do is to watch them play in rugby matches.

I enjoy running and yoga and it is my plan to do more of both over the summer.

I like to go on holiday in this country and enjoy going to the Yorkshire Dales because of the great walks in the countryside.

I hope to find out more about you too – so why don’t you let me know what your favourite things are by emailing me: [email protected]

I am really looking forward to September, and I hope you are too.

England’s Coming Home

Year 3 were inspired to write poems about how the nation are feeling about reaching the finals and their upcoming match with Italy this Sunday. Everyone has worked hard on their poems and have used different styles to be able to create them. #LovePlover

Monday Morning!

I am hoping that we are going to be celebrating on Sunday night, but even if we aren’t it is going to be a late night for a lot of you, so we have decided that you can have a lay-in!

Online learning will start at 10:30 so you have time to catch up on your sleep.

At 11 o’clock there are going to be some very important announcements!Have a lovely weekend!

Come On England!

Online Learners in 4G

So, we hadn’t planned on learning online this late in the year, but I am so proud of 4G for the way they have embraced the learning today.

They have completed maths activities about shape and done research about making Doncaster healthy.

We had a giggle with the emoji quiz this afternoon and then we all got active with Mr Meade.

Well done guys, I am very proud of your positive spirits!

See you in the morning!

A Personal Issue Inspires Writing

Jada was inspired to complete some independent writing about an article that she had read about swim caps for Afro hair not being accepted by the Olympics board and how it potentially excludes black people from participating. She has written a beautiful piece of writing about how important it is that everyone should be treated fairly and most importantly that everyone should be kind to each other.

We are proud of your independent writing Jada as I know your family is too! #LovePlover

Learning to use Stop Motion

Year 3 have been grappling with using Stop Motion for the first time today. It’s not easy but we are persevering and experimenting with getting the camera in the right position each time and taking photos frame by frame. The children couldn’t believe this is the same sort of technology that created Wallace and Gromit. There’s some new found respect for the creators of the film in our room today! #LovePlover
