This Christmas we will be raffling off coloured Christmas hampers which would make the perfect Christmas gifts. Each class has been challenged with a colour and the idea is each child will contribute something in that colour to add to the hamper. The class with the most contributions will win a prize. Please see above for your child’s class colour and examples of hamper contribution ideas.

We have had a busy afternoon making decorations for the Christmas trees in the school entrance. We mixed cornflour and glue, rolled out the dough and made trees and stars.
Tomorrow we will use our fine motor skills again to thread and tie.

Well done to Thomas who received our postcard today for working hard and beginning to sound out in phonics on his own. He was very proud of himself.

Next term EYFS are going to be Early Years Engineers. They are considering in a world of possibilities what they will make. We would like people to come and talk to the children about their jobs especially relating to creating and building – artists, joiners, builders (and related trades). If you can help or know someone who can, please let us know.
We would also like to learn how to build dens and tents that we can fit inside of, if anyone can help with this too.

We have had an amazing day in F2P. There were lots of children on green HoWLs today scoring a 4 for working hard.
Harper set herself some maths problems.
Some of the children created a number line, took turns to count along it and then made up a game.
We also had children who re-looked at the drawing video and had another go at drawing a parrot to see if they could make it better.
Mia got the postcard for working hard in phonics so a big shout out to her.
Well done everyone. A fabulous day.

Throughout the week the children have been learning to draw parrots like in the story we have been reading. We watched an artist draw a parrot and then copied the process. We then edited our pictures before painting and colouring them. We had some amazing pictures with some very careful painting.

In our story, the little girl meets a wizard, a pirate who has a parrot, a princess, a knight and a pilot. We have enjoyed making pirate hats and princess crowns. We have used the dressing up equipment to enhance our role play. We even built an aeroplane outside and used the boat as a pirate ship.
Congratulations to Harper for being awarded the yellow t-shirt for being kind and working hard. Each day this week she has challenged herself with further learning.
Well done Harper. We are proud of you,
Mrs Price
