Over the past two days we have planned, created and tested our own boats to safely help the gingerbread man cross the river. The children used a range of tools and materials to make their boats and were very proud of their creations.
Next term EYFS are going to be learning about the seaside. Our expedition is called What happens where the sea meets the shore? We will be learning about what the seaside looks like now and what it looked like long ago.
We are asking for your help.
If you go to the seaside for a day trip or on holiday please can you send us photos on Evidence Me. If you have any old photos that we could use or artefacts that we could look at we would appreciate seeing those also. We would like to make a timeline of changes over time.
Well done to these three superstars who all moved up a reading shelf today! It’s great to hear you have been practising and working hard both in school and at home.
Today Mr stables from XP came to speak to us all about boats. Mr Stables has been sailing in the UK and across the world for 14 years now so it was very interesting to see some of his photos and hear about his experiences. Mr Stables taught us what the different parts on a boat are called and we learnt some new terms such as buoyancy. We then played a game to get used to the boat terminology and Designed our own boats.
Well done to Ianis and Paisley who were awarded our yellow T-shirts today for always trying hard with their work, getting smart and being kind. I have seen a great improvement in Ianis’ independent writing.
Shout out’s to Dolly and Weronika in F2W who have also worked very hard today, going above and beyond with their learning and to Chase who has attended school all week this week.
Well done to the winners of the World Book Day competition! Here are the winners with their prizes. Well done and thank you to everyone who entered, there were so many fantastic and creative ideas. They are proudly displayed in phase areas for everyone to enjoy. #LovePlover
As part of World Book Day we looked at the book The diversity of life. We loved the butterflies and how they looked similar and different at the same time. We printed butterflies and we are going to make them into a display to celebrate the book.
