This week, 4G really enjoyed their first gymnastics lesson. The children made so much progress from the start of the lesson, learning to balance and try different positions on the benches and practicing both log and backward rolls. I am really impressed with the perseverance the children showed as the rolls were a lot harder to perform than they first thought!

Miss Wood.
From Thursday 10th November until Wednesday 16th November, Travelling Book Fairs will be at Plover School! This is a superb opportunity to check out lots of the latest books, as well as a chance to buy some of the ever popular stationery items! The book fair will be open from 3pm each day and entrance to the book fair is through the main office. Please see your child’s teacher, or Miss Topliss at the Y6 door, with any queries. We look forward to seeing you there! #LovePlover
Morris has worked so hard and completed his first story in his Lightning Squad sessions. Well done! I’m so proud of you.

Today we were lucky to have two very special visitors to Plover.
Roger and his sister Carroll came to tell us about their family’s experience of World War Two. Roger wasn’t born until after the war, but he has written about his Dad’s life, which involved fighting in the Queen’s Own Yorkshire Dragoons in the war. They even brought in a flag that their dad took from a German tank.
Carroll was only three when war broke out, but she told us so many stories about what it was like growing up during the war. She went to the nearby Intake Primary school and has memories of bomb shelters and taking drinks to Italian prisoners of war on the racecourse.
We all learnt something today, and we can’t wait to start turning their stories into our book.
We look forward to seeing them again at our celebration.
If you have any family stories of World War Two, we would love to hear them – please let your teacher know.

Well done Paul. you took your time with your handwriting and the improvements were clear to see. Keep it up! I look forward to seeing you work get more and more beautiful.
In addition to this, thank you to Paul and his family for all the information they have shared about family members during World War 2. It will really help with our final product.

How did the role of women change during World War 2? Just ask the children in 4G.
We have investigated the jobs that women had before, during and after the war and discussed how attitudes changed.
It is amazing to think that because of the work women did during World War 2, there is much greater equality today!
