Book Fair at Plover!

From Thursday 10th November until Wednesday 16th November, Travelling Book Fairs will be at Plover School! This is a superb opportunity to check out lots of the latest books, as well as a chance to buy some of the ever popular stationery items! The book fair will be open from 3pm each day and entrance to the book fair is through the main office. Please see your child’s teacher, or Miss Topliss at the Y6 door, with any queries. We look forward to seeing you there! #LovePlover

Reading over half term

The children of 1M who brought their book bags in have all been given their new QR code phonics book, a new reading book and a reading for pleasure book! Please enjoy reading these and bring them all back the first Thursday after half term! Thanks 1M Crew

TGB: retell our whole key text!

All 1M were able to retell the whole story of The 3 Little Pigs by themselves. We can’t wait for the children to use this knowledge after half term, to create their own narrative about the story! #LovePlover

Plover Praise Postcards

Well done to Chase who we are impressed with for working hard on his letter formation, maths counting and number formations and speaking in phonics!

Shout out to Angel who has shown great kindness to all children as well as children who need support! #LovePlover

Partitioning in Maths

Children used numicon to show their knowledge of what different two parts make 10. Followed by independent part part whole questions in their new work books! #LovePlover

Leighton and Sulieman’s Castle

During our expedition English lesson, these two worked collaboratively as ‘little pigs’ to build their castle. They used strong materials such as brick, plastic and crates! 10 Crew coins #LovePlover

Story tellers in 1M

1M enjoyed being story tellers in English this morning! We made a huge story map about the Three Little Pigs, then acted it out.

10 crew coins to Alec who made a brick castle like the 3rd little pig.

10 crew coins to Neveah and Ivanna who made their own story map! #LovePlover

Phonics meeting

Good Evening Y1 Crew

Just a reminder that tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday 12th October) at 2.30pm we will be having a parents phonics session in the hall.

This is just to make you aware of phonics -what it is, what we do, what the children do and how you can help with reading, spelling and writing.

Thanks

Mrs Bubb and Mr Meade

We are scientist’s

In expedition the children led their own learning by testing out their 3 castles (play doh, card board, brick) to see which was waterproof, windproof and the strongest…

Which do you think won? #LovePlover
