Keeping Hygienic in Expedition

1M started with their do now writing compound sentences with conjunctions.

Then we learnt about good and bad hygiene and experimented how germs can spread if we don’t wash our hands!

Before writing up the importance of good hygiene. #LovePlover

Reading and Homework in Year 1 and 2

This week the percentage of children who have recorded their reading at home is quite low.

Week 3This Week
Crew Bubb20%
Crew Carter54%
Crew Meade53%
Crew Jobber40%
Crew Lewis12%
Crew Pickering12%

To ensure the children continue to work hard and get smart, we have started a little competition between the crews.

Each FRIDAY the children will bring home a homework sheet. This will have a space to record their reading on and some maths and spelling homework.

The children will have until the following THURSDAY to complete the homework and return to their crew leader.

This will replace the reading logs.

The children that complete their home learning, will earn points towards a treat at the end of the term. But they can only earn points if they return their homework! Children will be able to complete this at school as well if needed, during a lunchtime club.

We understand that it is a whole family effort, so we will also be running a raffle for a parent prize. Each time a homework sheet is returned we will enter into a small prize draw.

We Care Wednesday

As part of this week’s Caring Crew, the children have been exploring the theme of kindness.

The children thought about their feeling and how actions can help to impact the feelings of others. The crews were challenged to choose a random act of kindness to do either as a crew or as individual pledges.Ā

We hope you spot some of the children carrying out their pledges.

Experimenting the Importance of Exercise in KS1

All children in KS1 enjoyed being put through their paces this morning to complete a circuit of exercises! We learnt how important exercise is for our bodies, to improve our mental and physical health and to pump blood to the brain to help is learn more! We were hot, sweaty, panting, red faced and our heart rates were beating much faster! #LovePlover

Working Hard in 1M

What a busy day of learning!

Shout out to Sienna and Mason for really working hard on their handwriting.

Avaarni has worked hard and produce some beautiful home learning to label parts of the body! #LovePlover
