It has been wonderful getting to know all children and parents/carers so far this week.
Please could I just ask that on behalf of all KS1, for you to check your child’s jumpers/cardigans to ensure they have the correct jumper/cardigan, due to some being misplaced.
We’ve had fun getting to know each other in 6H today by playing a variety of different icebreaker games. We have been able to maturely discuss the ‘Norms’ that we would expect to see from all members of the class and have set ourselves personal pledges that are challenging but achievable.
I am really looking forward to tomorrow’s Crew Day visit to Ninja Warrior in Sheffield. Just another little reminder that you will need to arrive at school in appropriate clothing: sports wear (preferably full length joggers/leggings which would protect your skin from possible friction burns). In addition, you will require a packed lunch and an extra water bottle would also be a good idea. If the online permission waiver has not yet been completed please do so as a matter of urgency. The link for this can be found on the upper KS2 phase blog – all pupils were shown how to find this in school today so should be able to help their parents/carers to find it.
Thank you for a great first day 6H…let’s rock this year together!
It is nearly time to be back in school. The classrooms are ready and the shared areas. Mr Taylor is cleaning the outside area today ready for next week.
We are looking forward to seeing you on your first day.
Here is a little video of what you need to do on the first morning.
Do you enjoy reading on Myon? Brilliant! Did you know you can still continue to use Myon over the summer? Using any device, simply follow these instructions to access thousands of online reads.
I’m having a little trouble uploading a video so thought I’d introduce myself here instead. Most of you already know me but if you don’t my name is Mrs Shuka.
I’m looking forward to teaching you in Year 3 along side Mrs Lewis. I will be teaching you from Monday to Wednesday. We’ve got some lovely expeditions planned and we’re going to have a great year. I can’t wait to see you all and find out how much you’ve grown and changed since you were with me in F2. I’m also looking forward to those if you who have joined Plover in years 1 and 2.
In the meantime, here are a few clues about me and the sorts of things I’m interested in. I wonder if you can guess them all!
I am really looking forward to getting to know you better and I am sorry we can’t be in school to talk in person but here are some facts about me for now:
I have two children , Tom is at University in Lincoln studying science and Harry is about to go into Year 11 at school. Both boys love rugby and one of my favourite things to do is to watch them play in rugby matches.
I enjoy running and yoga and it is my plan to do more of both over the summer.
I like to go on holiday in this country and enjoy going to the Yorkshire Dales because of the great walks in the countryside.
I hope to find out more about you too – so why don’t you let me know what your favourite things are by emailing me: [email protected]
I am really looking forward to September, and I hope you are too.
Our 2nd day of working from home and what a fabulous day you have had. And the sun has been shining on us!
It has been great seeing so many of you online at some point during the day today. The learning that has been coming through has been awesome. You have been working really hard guys. More England focussed activities, then measurement in maths. Finally, enjoying outdoor fun. It was great seeing so many of you being active with Mr Meade.
Year 3 were inspired to write poems about how the nation are feeling about reaching the finals and their upcoming match with Italy this Sunday. Everyone has worked hard on their poems and have used different styles to be able to create them. #LovePlover
On Monday 19th July, the ice cream van will visit us at 10.30. This will be free to the children as a collaborative treat for their attendance – we will be using our class cash! How exciting! Thank you to Mrs Shuka for booking it. #LovePlover
