Friday 26th June maths answers

Here are the answers to today’s learning.

TGB: exit ticket

Here is your exit ticket for today. Remember this isn’t a test, this is for me to see what you have learnt and what you might need more support with.

Number bonds to 10

0 + 10 = 10

5 + 5= 10

2 + 8= 10

7 + 3 = 10

10 = 9 + 1

6 + 4 = 10

Fact families

Here are three number cards. Can you give me four equations you can make using these numbers? 6    3     9

6 + 3 = 9

3 + 6 = 9

9 – 6 = 3

9 – 3 = 6

Fact families

Here are three number cards. Can you give me four equations you can make using these numbers? 5     7       2

5 + 2 = 7

2 + 5 = 7

7 – 5 = 2

7 – 2 = 5

Fact families

Here are three number cards. Can you give me four equations you can make using these numbers? 11     8       3

8 + 3 = 11

3 + 8 = 11

11- 8 = 3

11 – 3 = 8

Adding within 20

9 + 4 = 13

13 + 2 = 15

15 + 5 = 20

18 + 1 = 19

0 + 6 = 6

5 + 6 = 11

Subtract within 20

8 – 7 = 1

15 – 3 = 12

20 – 4 = 16

17 – 9 = 8

6 – 0 = 6

11 – 5 = 6

Compare number sentences

Use the symbols <, > or = to make these statements correct.

17 + 3    >     14 + 2

5 + 6      >      6 + 3

15 + 1    =      12 + 4

18 – 2      =     16 – 0

14 – 7      <     19 – 10

10 – 3       <    10 – 0

Reasoning

Miss Lotysz has 3 number cards.

3     5       2

She has written two number sentences.

3 + 5 = 2 3 = 5 + 2

Explain what Miss Lotysz has done wrong.

She has mixed up the numbers.

Correct her number sentences.

3 + 2 = 5      2 + 3 = 5     5 = 3 + 2    5 = 2 + 3

Reasoning

Which number bond is the odd one out?

5 + 5        6 + 4      10 + 2          7 + 3

10 + 2 because the rest equal 10 and this one equals 12.

Why do you think it is the odd one out?

Reasoning

How many different ways can you complete the number sentence?

3 + ___  <  3 + ___

There are lots of answers to this, here are an example of a few.

3 + 1 < 3 + 4

3 + 2 < 3 + 5

3 + 3 < 3 + 4

3 + 0 < 3 + 4

Problem solving

There are 9 sweets altogether.

3 have a red wrapper and 7 have a blue wrapper.

Is this correct? no

Explain how you know.

because 3 + 7 = 10

Problem solving

How many ways can you get an answer of 0?

____ – _____ = 0

What is the rule?

There are lots of answers to this, here are a few.

10 – 10 = 0

9 – 9 = 0

8 – 8 = 0

7 – 7 = 0

6 – 6 = 0

The rule is that the two numbers you are subtracting have to be the same.

Problem solving

Would you rather have 6 sweets and 2 more sweets, or 8 sweets?

Explain your answer.

They are both the same.

Problem solving

Miss Lister says

5 + 2 is greater than 4 + 4 because 5 is greater than 4.

Is she correct? no

Explain why.

Because 5 + 2 = 7 and 4 + 4  = 8

Here is a game for you to have a go at once you have completed your learning.

Well done Vittoria!

English Friday 26th June

Good morning Key Stage One!

Today we are going to be using Miss Lotysz’s critique from yesterday in order to make improvements to our diary. We are going to then write it up in best! Remember, you’ll need your best handwriting and then you could decorate your work with a border, some pictures or even a few tiger prints!

When you are finished, take a picture and email it to [email protected]. Your work might even make the blog this afternoon!

End of the day

Well done on another fantastic day of learning Key Stage One! I hope you have managed to have some fun in the sun and have had plenty of sun cream on and eaten lots of ice cream. See you all again tomorrow for another fantastic day of learning.

Don’t forget if you have any photos for the time capsule, the last date for you to hand them in is tomorrow.
We would love pictures of you cooking with your family or sharing a meal with your family.

Thursday 25th June maths answers

Here are the maths answers for today’s learning. Let me know how you got on.

Starter

13 + 7 = 20

14 + 6 = 20

20 – 8 = 12

20 – 19 = 1

14 + 6 = 20

19 + 1 = 20

10 + 10 = 20

Here are some questions for you to have a go at.

Using the words greater than, less than or equal to, can you compare these number sentences? One has been done for you.

8 + 7 is greater than 7 + 6

10 + 3 is greater than 5 + 2

9 + 6 is equal to 6 + 9

8 + 8 is greater than 4 + 3

3 + 2 is less than 5 + 6

8 + 3 is less than 10 + 5

Here are some questions for you to have a go at.

Using the words greater than, less than or equal to, can you compare these number sentences? One has been done for you.

13 – 3 is less than 16 – 4

17 – 7 is equal to 15 – 5

3 – 2 is less than 9 – 7

18 – 2 is greater than 14 – 9

6 – 6 is equal to 8 – 8

19 – 5  is greater than 13 – 6

Here are some questions for you to have a go at.

Now we’re going to use the symbols <, > or = to compare number sentences. Have a go at these, one has been done for you.

10 + 6 > 12 + 2

5 + 5   <   9 + 7

7 + 6    >  3 + 3

11 + 4  =  2 + 13

7 + 7   <  8 + 8

1 + 6   =  6 + 1

20 – 6  >  20 – 8

13 – 7  <  19 – 2

14 – 7   > 16 – 10

18 – 9  =  10 – 1

Challenge

Miss Lotysz has 16 sweets and eats seven of them. 16 – 7 = 9

Miss Lister has 17 sweets and eats eight of them. 17 – 8 = 9

Who has more sweets left? They both have the same amount of sweets left.

Explain your answer. 16 – 7 = 17 – 8

Extra Challenge

Miss Topliss is working out which symbol to use to compare the number sentences.

14 – 5     14 + 5

The missing symbol must be = because the numbers are the same on both sides.

Do you agree with Miss Topliss? No

Explain why. Subtracting an answer will make the number smaller.

Don’t forget to share any pictures of today’s learning with me, you never know they might feature on the blog.

Just dance fun this morning!

We have had lots of fun this morning in our bubble! Please take a look at our just dance video- we are challenging all children to join in with a just dance video on YouTube and we would love you to send them to us so we can put them on the blog to share with your friends!

English Thursday 25th June

Good morning Key Stage One. Today you will be writing your diary. You will need yesterday’s plan to help you with this.

Here is an example to help you if you would like to see how to write your diary.

When you are finished, please email to [email protected], and Miss Lotysz will critique your work for you.

Dear diary,

Today has been very exciting. A tiger came to tea! The doorbell rang and it was a tiger! He was tall with orange fur and black stripes. He ate all our food and he drank all of our drink. There wasn’t even any water left in the tap! Then the tiger went home. Daddy let us go out for tea. I had sausages and ice cream. We bought some tiger food. I wonder if the tiger will come back again?
