Good morning and it’s a great start to another week as the sun is out. We are busy learning about the sun, moon and stars in the form of different stories. The children are enjoying recapping on different maths skills too.
We haven’t had much of a chance to catch up as a full 5/6 phase but today we did our first virtual assembly. It was lovely to hear what fabulous things our children have been doing in class and their highlights of the week as well as celebrating successes! Well done to everyone in 5/6 this week you have all been awesome but a bigger shout out to those children who received a shout-out from their teachers for their howls this week! Well done superstars! i have been asked very politely this morning if I can put a call out for all want to be football players! it is for Armthorpe Wolves under 10s. They train at the field just past Armthorpe Comp and the training day is Thursday night 6-7pm. The season starts on Sunday. If you are interested please let me know and I will pass your details on.Boys and girls are welcome!!
The end is insight! We are all feeling ready for the weekend even though it has only been 4 days. The children have really settled in well and have embraced their learning. I know there has been a few sore feet [mine included] after wearing new shoes. Well done 5K enjoy the coming weekend – see you tomorrow for the last day of the week.
It’s been brilliant to see all the children back at school and to have a class to teach again. The only down side that the children and I agree on is having to be out of our pyjamas so early! All the children look very smart in their uniforms – well done mums, dads and carers your children are a credit to you.

On Friday I will be holding 2 hang outs for my new class. You do not have to attend if you do not want to but you may just want to say hello to me [even if I have already taught you!] I look forward to seeing you if you do decide to surprise me!!

As this school year comes to an end, we start to think ahead to next year. Our children have been informed who their teacher is going to be next year, had the chance to find out a little bit about them and are hopefully writing about themselves to share with their new teacher.
School restrictions during Covid-19 have made it impossible to complete the transition activities we would normally put in place to support your child with their move to their new class, however we would like to offer all children the opportunity to meet with their new children ‘virtually’.
We have arranged Google Meets on Thursday and Friday with all of our teachers. We have tried where possible to offer two times to avoid clashing times with classes and to provide some choice – children do not need to join both Google Meets.
Meeting joining codes will be shared via email and Google classroom.
