Monday 11th May

Good Morning,

It is sunny outside but really quite cold.

We are back on our Tudor expedition again and looking forward to researching more about different royals.

We are on Chapter 7 of the book, make sure you listen then answer the questions. We are building up to a big write so make sure you practise.

In maths we are at money, it might help you to look at the different coins first, but use the videos to help you.

Miss Blackham would like keep-fit videos from you this week, so stick on your sports gear and think of an exercise to share with everyone. I’d love to see you all join in with this.

Keep safe,

Mrs Graves

Pride of Plover

A belated congratulations to William as this week’s Pride of Plover! He has been involved in the weekly video challenges and has done lots of extra reading around our expedition! Well done William.

VE Day

Today is VE and we have joined up with Green Top Primary to share some of our celebrations so far. Please send us any pictures you take from today of you celebrating at home.

Next week’s video will be our exercise video- this can be any form of exercise from dancing, running, kick ups, bike riding, trampolining (all with social distancing in mind). Please email your pictures to [email protected]

Friday 8th May

Good Morning

Today we celebrate VE Day.

There is work set on Google Classroom but more than anything I’d love to see you get dressed up and organise a socially distant street party, take some photos and share them with me – I will be doing this with my family later today and made WW2 inspired oat biscuits for it – I’ll attach the recipe!

We are having a Google Meet at 10am today – the code with be shared separately – I look forward to see you then and I will share who is today’s Pride of Plover.

Take Care

Mrs Graves

Thursday 7th May

Good Morning,

We have been so blessed with the weather – another morning of clear blue skies.

Please get involved with Miss Blackham’s latest video – this week it is to celebrate VE Day , so it would be lovely to see you and your bunting in the film. You have till 4pm today- get in touch with Miss Blackham for more information.

Well done for continuing to complete your work,  don’t give your mums and dads a hard time about it – they are trying to make sure you are prepared for when you come back to school.

More learning about VE Day today and party preparations. There was a really good programme on Channel 5 showing VE Day in colour on Saturday – maybe you could watch that too.

Have a lovely day, keep smiling, keep safe.

Wednesday 6th May

Good Morning,

It is a gorgeous day out there, so I hope you get to have a bit of fresh air.

I have listened to what a couple of you have said about yesterday’s English being a bit long – it is only because the recipes are spread over a few slides – so I have set the hand in day for today, so that you have more time to do it. Please don’t rush it, as I would really like to see well thought out success criteria for making a good party and I would like to see it planned out using a good level of detail.

The maths is Roman Numerals today and I would also like you to go onto Times Tables Rockstars to keeps practicing.

We continue to learn about VE day – I would love to see more photographs of bunting, so I can share them in this weeks Feel Good Friday video (deadline tomorrow 4pm) – check out Miss Blackham’s post for more details.

I got a nice surprise yesterday when Lola sent me a video of her reading her book – what a lovely idea, I really enjoyed listening to her read – and I think I guessed the book right too!

Keep busy, keep safe, have a nice day!

Tuesday 5th May

Good Morning,

Lovely to see the work being completed yesterday and hopefully the mini expedition has caught your interest – there will be lots on the TV about it this week too.

I’m going to share on Click View a programme about VE day that was on over the weekend – it is so interesting to see how people lived a couple of generations ago. I also think that with what we are going through at the moment – not being able to go out and do what we normally do or buy what we normally buy, it gives us a little look into what life was like all those years ago during the war – just imagine your life changing so much – not being able to see family etc –  and it lasting for years and years like it did for children growing up in the 1940s.

There are more tasks building up to a VE Day Celebration of Friday for you to complete today.

Please only hand-in work when you have completed it and please go onto click view and complete the questions on the video from yesterday.

Enjoy your day – get crafty and get dancing!!!
