Awesome English!

Today children looked carefully at sentences and decided whether they needed to be punctuated with a ? ! or .

We then looked at prefixes and suffixes.

We still had time for role play to help us retell the story ‘A Storm Whale’.

The Great Fire of London Expedition – Celebration of Learning

Although the Spring term may have been different and provided challenges – ultimately we were so proud of KS1 for their perseverance, resilience and creativity!

Please find our celebration of learning video which shows the journey of our fantastic expedition whether it was at home or in school.

The poems we all created along with the awesome artwork for our final product anthology will be published and donated to the local library for the community to enjoy.

KS1’s Expedition Environment

Check out all of the stunning crafts and designs all our KS1 children have created during hook week – it really has been a fantastic and immersive week!

All the children have been buzzing with the crafts, activities (beach hut, lighthouse, cliffs, sand and sea collage, fish & chip shop and menus, donuts and waffles stand, boat, whale, fish, seaguls) and have lots of wonders about our new expedition ‘Would you staycation in Doncaster?’

We will be exploring Doncaster and comparing it to the seaside as part of our locality study!

Massive congratulations and thank you to everybody – Go crew!

Seaside treats

This week our children have been eagerly hooked when making chocolate shells and different flavour ice creams (mint choc chip🍪, lemon curd🍋, oreo🍩, strawberry 🍓 and chocolate🍫)

Today in the splendid Spring sunshine we got to eat them – deeelicious!👏🏽

Enjoy your weekends KS1.

Pride of Plover Winners

Congratulations to Alina (1M), Max (1/2C) and Symon (2P) who are the Tellow T-shirt winners for showing the Plover Pledge this week!

Alina always tries her best, asks for support and is honest about her learning and is genuinely the most kindest child who always puts other children and people first☀️

Max’s attitude towards his learning this week has been marvellous… he’s constantly had a smile on his face, he’s been communicating and collaborating a lot more and is really starting to grow 🌟

Symon has had a brilliant week – taking ownership of his work, classroom and key stage learning environment, as well as producing some awesome learning!😁

Well done KS1 crew.

We care Wednesday

Crew Attenborough focussed on Friendship today, we thought about what being a good friend looked like.

We discussed our ideas.
We thought hard about the characteristics we wanted in our friends.
We had to agree on which we thought were the most important.
We decided it was important to:
Be kind
Share
Help each other

In other words – BE CREW

A super session today Crew Attenborough
