Hook Week Continues!

I’m so excited to see you all in your superhero costumes tomorrow! Remember on Friday to come dressed as a real life hero, this could be someone famous or someone you know or a role model! I wonder if we will have any police men/women or firefighters?

PE kits for next week on Tuesday please, I’ll try and remember to remind you closer to the time.

Today we went on a scavenger hunt for super powers! Then we thought about why these traits are important and we thought about people who have them. Then, we turned ourselves into superheroes and decorated the classroom! I’m so impressed with your artistic skills! Loving the happy smiley faces too!

Captain America at Plover!

We kicked off our hook week activities this afternoon with a very special visit from a superhero! The children were super excited and came up with a list of questions to ask him. I wasn’t in class today so I can’t wait to hear all about it. See you tomorrow 2B!

KS1 Thank you

A huge thank you to all KS1 parents (old & new) for your fantastic support and cooperation during your child’s first week back at school. Also, an extra appreciation to those parents who supported on our Sandall Beat Wood trip last Friday – we hope you’ve had a nice relaxing weekend!

As a crew we will try to get information out to you as soon as possible.
A few reminders for our parents :
✅ can we make sure long hair is tied up for school

✅ wash and check hair regularly for head lice

✅ put names in coats, jumpers, water bottles and pe kits (we will put left over clothes on the outside tables the following day which have no names in for parents to collect, to save a pile of jumpers being collated during the year)

✅ Earrings to be removed on the days of PE

See you all tomorrow KS1 where we will be starting our Expedition Hook Week… watch this space for the activities we have in store this week!

Thanks KS1 Crew

Outdoor Adventures with Crew Barker!

Today has been my favourite day of the week, I have had so much fun! Again, you have all made me proud you have been so sensible and smart and I’ve heard lots of thank yous!

We started off beating Crew Meade by being super speedy and finding all the superheroes in the forest! Then we enjoyed yummy food cooked round the camp fire. You all stayed really safe and well away from the fire, listening carefully to Leon the ranger. And finally you really impressed me with the superhero bases, we had a police station and 2 Batman caves! Maybe we have a few architects amongst us 😂

We also took the chance to celebrate our work that we completed all the way back in Foundation! It looks beautiful, well done everybody!

Thank you Mr Meade for organising and also a massive thank you to the parent helpers the children, staff and I really appreciate you taking the time to help to ensure we had a safe, fun time.

Class 2B thank you so much for a wonderful week. I felt nervous at the start because it’s my first time being a teacher! But I’m so proud of you all and I feel super lucky to have you as my class. You’re very important, special people! I’m excited for our year ahead ❤️ #loveplover

Year 2 Sports Day!

I’m so proud of everyone today! I hope everyone has enjoyed it and had lots of fun. My favourite part of the day was when the bouncy castle man told me lots of children had thanked him and it put a huge beaming smiling on my face! I wish we could end everyday with an ice cream but think our dentists might have something to say about that 😂 Thank you to Mr Meade for organising, bring on next sports day!

We have another exciting day tomorrow with our trip, none school uniform please with sensible shoes and appropriate jacket just in case!

SPORTS DAY

Hi Plover Parents,

It has been fantastic to see so many children and staff back in school today for our first day back! 🙂

This Thursday 2nd September is KS1 and KS2 Sports day – a celebration for all the community to enjoy, heading into (hopefully) a smoother year!

Parents are INVITED and can access the school field from 9.15am. Chairs/benches will be out on the concrete for parents to sit and watch the track events.

There will be an ice-cream van on the playground for children to purchase an ice cream (with parents supervision) after their running races.

The sports day will look and run slightly different from previous sports days, however we just want it to be a positive and fun start to the year for all children to take part in! It will consist of track races, field events and fun activities.

9.30am-10.30am:

  • KS1 fun events
  • LKS2 track/running events
  • UKS2 field events

10.30am-11.30am:

  • LKS2 fun events.
  • UKS2 track/running evenKS1 field events

11.30am-12.30am:

  • UKS2 fun events.
  • KS1 track/running events
  • LKS2 field e

We ask for children to come in their PE kits and to wear an item of clothing which represents their CREW colour ed, yellow, blue). This may be difficult as your child may have changed crews and may not know their colour, so don’t worry their full PE kit is absolutely fine.

Any questions, please ask your class teacher or email Mr Meade on [email protected]

We look forward to seeing you all support your superstars!
