We read the story of ‘The Day the Crayons Quit.’ We looked at colours and sang the song, “I can sing a rainbow.” We melted our wax crayons onto the rainbow that we had painted.

Our children looked amazing on World Book Day. They enjoyed all of our stories and acting them out!
Thank you to all of the parents who attended to make a split pin pig or wolf with their child for our story ‘Celebration Event.’
Our new story is “The Three Little Pigs.” We are using puppets, the building equipment and painting pigs. We have also made them from pink play dough!
In our outdoor area, we organised our new bark chippings and sand. We work together as a team, sharing and thinking of the feelings of others.
We baked bear shaped biscuits for our ‘Book and a Biscuit’ session with our parents and carers. Thank you to all those who attended.
We have new toys to use in our role play. We have been dressing up as Goldilocks and now we are being builders in preparation for the story of ‘The Three Little Pigs.’ Please read this story in the holidays if you can.
Our children have enjoyed creating a large Daddy Bear, a medium sized Mummy Bear and a tiny Baby Bear. We are using different words for describing size. Please try this at home to enrich our vocabulary. Then Goldilocks arrived………..
Thank you very much to all those adults who stayed for “Book and a Biscuit” on Friday morning! It was an enthusiastic start to having this special time in the setting. It will be every Friday so don’t worry if you weren’t able to attend this week. Also if you wish to read with our children at a different time during the week you are very welcome.
Adults are very welcome to stay on a Friday morning from 8.45 am until 9.15 am to read a book with their child. The books are out in the classroom ready for you to choose from with your child.
When you read to your child while they are cuddled up, warm and comfortable next to you, you make them feel loved. This makes them remember the feeling of being loved when they look at books. So when they pick up a book they feel loved and will become a better reader for having a love of books. This means that they will be a better writer too! When you are reading your voice changes. It slows down and the child hears every word that you say. If reading at home is right then reading at school will be more successful too!
We look forward to seeing you on Friday morning.
