Road Safety

Yesterday in crew we learnt about how to be safe near the road and how to cross safely. Thank you to the road safety team that gave the children some resources to remind them how to keep safe.

Gingerbread Men!

After looking at our new story of The Gingerbread Man, we enjoyed baking our own gingerbread men today. We read the instructions carefully and measured out the ingredients.

Numberbonds

Today we enjoyed making number bonds to ten using paper chains. We selected ten strips of paper, using two colours, and stuck them together. We then verbally recalled the numberbonds we had made.

Astronaut

As part of our day learning about air pollution, we had an astronaut come to visit. The astronaut spoke to us about what it’s like up in space and the first people to go to the moon. It was really exciting!

WOW

We loved going out to explore the different workshops today whilst the road was closed. We tried circus tricks, waking smoothies and riding balance bikes. I was so proud to see how many children walked to school as well!

World Book Day Competition

Ahead of World Book Day, which is held on Thursday 3rd March, we would like to invite all children to make a book character from a toilet roll tube (or something of an equivalent size that you have at home). You can bring them into your class on World Book Day and one child from each phase will win a special prize! Below are some photos that might give you some inspiration but please let your imaginations run wild! We can’t wait to see your creations! #LovePlover

Uganda

Mrs Price spoke to us today about life in Uganda, on behalf of her friend that had visited the country. The children got to look at a rage of photographs taken in Uganda and we compared the similarities and differences between there and South Africa.

How to care for our planet

In crew today we discussed how we can care for our planet and how to keep it clean. We cut out love hearts then wrote as a crew the ways in which we feel we can help.
