Wednesday 1st April

Morning all,

I hope you are all well? As usual, your google classroom lessons are waiting for you to access them.

Today, we would like you to research as much as you can about April Fool’s Day and present this however you choose – a fact file, non-chron report or poster are just a few ways you could achieve this.

Once upon a time it was known as All Fools Day.  Why?

What history lies behind this infamous day?

What are its origins and traditions around the globe?

Have a great day. Miss you all.

Tuesday 31st March 2020

Good morning 6H,

It’s another beautiful morning in my neck of the woods.  The sun is shining, the birds are singing and to top it all off, the dog is snoring in the corner of my kitchen!  How peaceful!

I noticed there were a few more of you online yesterday and this was really pleasing.  However, please try and remember to check in and submit your work to me.

There seemed to be a few less glitches with google classroom yesterday but this morning I have noticed that a number of you were commenting on work and submitting pieces rather late last night.  Despite being happy that you many of you are engaging with this way of learning, I worry that you shouldn’t be working as late as eleven o’clock at night.  Sleep is important too – especially when you are working online as much as you are at the moment.

Don’t forget to check Miss Blackham’s daily challenge out on her blog page and rememeber if you need anything, I’m only an email away.

Have a great day guys.

School Meal Vouchers

It is very likely that soon we will be moving to a school meal voucher system to replace the cold packed lunches that we are currently offering, as we will not have dinner staff on site.

School meal vouchers will be issued to anyone currently entitled to Free School Meals.

If you feel that you may be entitled to a Free School Meal, but have never applied, please don’t worry, it is not too late!

Applications can be made online via the link below and you will get an instant response if you are eligible. You will need your own name and date of birth, contact details, national insurance number or national asylum seekers number, your child’s name and date of birth, and the name of our school, Plover Primary.

If you are eligible, please either email or bring proof into school (can be on your mobile phone) and we will process your request.

If you need any help with the application, please contact school and someone will be available to support you.

Monday 30th March

Good morning 6H

I hope that you’ve all had good weekends and that you have also made sure your eyes had plenty of rest from your device screens.

I miss you and hope to be hearing from you soon.  Please rememeber to check in as soon as possible.  I look forward to receiving your work which is set on Google Classroom.  Don’t forget to check out Miss Blackham’s daily challenge on her blog page.

Keep smiling 🙂

Awesome home learning!

How fabulous are these snippets of work from our fabulous years 5/6 children. They have made such a fantastic effort of creating a chapter about my little pugs. I need to give a further shout out for Lucas, as he knows my pugs so well (he clearly listens to me in class) he has captured their personality in his chapters so well! Well done everyone! Please keep it up everyone!

Friday 27th March

Good morning 6H,

I hope you are okay – I’ve not heard from all of you this week and this has made me worry about some you.  You may have recieved a phone call from one of the five/six team yesterday reminding you to try and access the online learning – please try your best to do so.

Even though school has only been closed for a week, it feels like a lifetime since I saw you all and I miss each and every single one of you.

Have any of you added a rainbow to your windows to show support for each other and that we are all in this toegether?  I know Charlie L in 6B has – how thoughtful!

Last night was a surreal expercience – there was so much noise created by the people in my village when we all joined in with the ‘Clap for the NHS Staff’ at 8pm.

I look forward to reading your explanations of the phases of the moon.  Remember: if you are finding this challenging, there are lots of helpful videos on youtube and accounts to read online – just make sure you select ones appropriate for your age and that you do not copy and paste material.

Have a fab day and keep smiling.

Mrs H 🙂
