We are going to be on Trax FM!

Today, these children recorded with Trax FM as part of their little school project. Next week, from 3:30pm-4:00pm the children will be on the radio every day, answering questions and telling jokes for the whole week. They were all fabulous and I can’t wait to tune in!

Week 1 has landed successfully!

First week back has been completed. The children have really enjoyed hook week and the creative activities we have completed. The solar system model is in place and everyones rocket has launched around the classroom. The pupils interest in this topic has been brilliant ! The only thing missing from the classroom is a rocket model, a space probe or a satellite model if any parents and children are feeling really creative???

Nando’s winners!

A huge well done to the above children who have read 50 times and have won a meal at Nandos! The children will be joining Mrs Ogle on Friday at 11:30 to enjoy their treat! Well done to everyone who has read at home, us teachers can see the impact and we encourage you to keep it up! Our next incentive starts on Monday and the reward will be a pizza making party at the end of Spring term at Pizza Express!
The rules are, children must read to someone and have a signature in their reading records or on paper. Only one signature a day counts and if children are struggling to read to an adult at home, they can read to their teacher during break/dinner to count towards their signatures! The first children to read 50 times will be given a place! We have more places on the next reward so all is to play for! Let’s keep up the reading 5/6!

Year 5/6 Nando’s reading challenge!

Our Nando’s incentive has been fantastic! So many children from years 5&6 have read at home and I speak on behalf of the 5/6 team when I say how proud we are of you all!

The winning years 5&6 children will be announced on Friday and their trip to Nando’s will be in the first week back. There is still time to increase your score by reading at home up until Friday!

Our new incentive will be launched in crew after Christmas! It’s an exciting one!

Happy Christmas to the Wellness Centre

Miss Brogan and myself had the great task of visiting the Wellness Centre with a food donation this morning. The food had been collected by staff as a ‘pay it forward’ advent calendar suggested by Mrs Graves. The staff there were very welcoming and pleased to receive the donation. Glyn was keen to make links with Plover as the centre helps a lot of families in the Intake area when they are in need. I suggested maybe we could arrange a collection of school uniform at the end of the school year as this could help the financial burden for families

.

Our calendars are £7.50 or 2 for £10

The children from years 5&6 have been working really hard this term to answer their guiding question “our world- what are you going to do about it?”
The children have worked so hard during their three case studies and have produced fantastic narratives, art work and fact splats to name but a few!
Please support our children and purchase these fantastic calendars! Every child in years 5&6 have contributed to these stunning and informative calendars- which even include QR codes! They would make fantastic Christmas gifts and are available to purchase from the office- £7.50 for one or two for £10!
