Thank you to Mrs Kibble for organising a fruit donation to support our healthy eating learning at school this week.
Mrs Kibble kindly arranged for every class in school to receive a box of a variety of fruits which were delivered by local greengrocer, K.D Davis & Son.
Children have enjoyed learning about healthy eating as well as trying some fruits they may not have tried before. There has also been some fantastic artwork too!
At Plover, we have introduced toast at break times at no costs to children for everyone to keep their tummies full! As you can see Years 5&6 were so happy to be tucking into their toast!
I [Mrs Keegan] have been asked to start a Parent Teachers Association so the school and parents can work together. I know it has been a strange 18 months with the lock downs but, looking forward to more normal times, would anyone be interested in being involved? If you are not sure who I am, I am the teacher at the back of school who probably said hello to you every morning when you walked past in the one way system. I would just like to see who is interested and what sort of things you would like out of this association. It could just be being involved in fund raising, it could be more information on the curriculum, all ideas are welcome! Please click on the link and fill out the form to register an interest.
Year 5&6 children were given an amazing opportunity today to work with Martin and Watson from Doncaster Dons. The children were so excited and have really enjoyed themselves. We’ve had lots of children ask for a tag-rugby club next year because they had so much fun! Thank you Martin and Watson for a fantastic experience! -Miss Blackham
I am challenging 5/6 next half-term! All children who achieve an average of 3 on their HOWLs will be put into a prize draw to win a takeaway afternoon tea (Harry Potter theme of course) from cupcakes 2 love ltd. There will be one winner from year 5 and one from year 6!
Thank you to everyone who bought a bacon or a sausage sandwich this morning! We managed to raise just under ÂŁ100 which is amazing! Here are some photos from this morning (some children were too excited that they ran off to eat their sandwich before I managed to get a picture!)
We didn’t bother getting dressed on Friday, instead we came to school in our pyjamas – but it was all for a good cause.
We were in our pyjamas to raise the importance of sharing a bedtime story and to support the Book Trust’s quest to make sure every child gets a bedtime story.
Today we feel really lucky as Doncaster Stories, the Children’s University and the Doncaster Opportunity area have provided all KS2 children with bags and craft resources to take part in the Doncaster Reading Miles challenge!
All Children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 are being encouraged to read at least 10 minutes a day and to work their way round their Doncaster map, earning stickers as they reach their destination.
Completing the map will count towards the Children’s University graduation and will earn the children certificates.
We are also going to have our own friendly competition in school.
Thank you to Morrison’s, Armthorpe for donating us a number of grow your own sunflower packs to grow around our school. We can’t wait to plant them and share our progress🌻🌻
