Shout out to Mia for completing lots of additional work at home. Mia has really grappled with using prefixes and suffixes. She is always an absolute superstar putting 100% into her work.
Shout out to Lena who showed fabulous independence with her maths learning. She was also a superstar when completing the voice over for our video. Feeling very proud of you. Next time I hope to get a photo before you start running away from the camera. 😂
Congratulations to Luca in 2P for consistently demonstrating the Plover Pledge, he is such a creative and mature young person who is a pleasure to have in KS1.
Congratulations to Sam in 1.2C who has worked hard this week on his writing and was brilliant on his school trip last week.
Congratulations to Violet who’s behaviour and attitude towards her learning for the last two weeks has been pretty much perfect… keep it up superstar!
My class have had a really busy couple of days. We have visited Cusworth Hall, Doncaster Minster and Doncaster Racecourse. These are just 3 of 9 locations KS1 are visiting as part of their Expedition ‘Would You Staycation In Doncaster’.
Huge appreciations to Ashley and Sam at Cusworth Hall they went above and beyond to ensure our children enjoyed their visit.
Also appreciations to Clive and Andy at Doncaster Minster, they provided us with so much expert information. The children walked along the old Roman fort wall, they explored both outside and inside the Minster. An experience that they really enjoyed was Clive ringing one of the Minster bells.
At the racecourse the children imagined being Jockeys, appreciations to Josh at the Racing College for the Racing Silks, it really added to the experience.
Today we ended the trip with a fantastic treat, appreciations to King Whippy for making the visit to the racecourse especially for our children … and staff! I think there was a competition for the largest ice cream … or the messiest ! 😂
I always enjoy school visits, they make wonderful memories which children will keep forever. These trips are full of memories which I know myself and the crew in KS1 will treasure; our first trip out after a really hard year due to COVID, the smiles on the children’s faces, the help and support of the local community… and mostly my truly fabulous class. As always, you have made me so proud.
If your child would like to submit an entry (and there are fantastic prizes to be won). Please bring your entry to 6B by Tuedsay 25th May and we will send your entries off on your behalf. 5 crew coins to everyone that gets involved!
Just a quick reminder . Your child will be taking part in either the Cusworth trip tomorrow or the Racecourse and Minster on Tuesday. Your letter will have specified the day and location.
Remember that the children on the trip tomorrow will need a packed lunch (unless a school packed lunch has been booked). On Tuesday children will return to school in time for lunch.
The weather forecast is a little unsettled this week so please make sure children have sensible shoes and a raincoat.
I’m getting excited already so I hope the children are too!
Just a quick reminder that children can wear pyjamas today. A few children have asked if they can wear slippers. I am happy if they want to bring a pair for indoor use but obviously they will need shoes/trainers for outdoor play.
