I could not be prouder than I am of these superstar readers! These children started the year very unsure and not very interested in reading. The progress they have made has been fantastic! Well done to each and every one of you, your determination and resilience has been brilliant.
Today, year 2 have been refreshing their knowledge of the continents. To help them learn them the children have enjoyed an old fashioned game of beetle drive.
Year 2 have been learning about the difference between human and physical features in Geography. We used our knowledge to play a sorting game where we had to identify different examples of each category. After we had got really confident, we even turned it into a race. Who could sort all of the examples correctly in the fastest time. George M managed all 15 in just 25 seconds! Amazing skills!
The children in Year 2 will be presenting their Final Word to share their KS1 journey so far. At their Final Word, the children will share a short presentation with their grown ups. You are therefore invited to book a slot with Mrs Lewis on the 28th or 29th June.
There are 15 minute slots available throughout the school day and they are on a first come, first served basis.
Mrs Lewis will be on the playground for the next few mornings to arrange times.
Mrs Lewis is hosting the following children:
Mason, Jarvis, Atlas, Samuel, Matthew, Rufus, Emma, Bobby, George E, George L, Minnie, Charlotte, Hasty, Diana, Theo, Jenson, Charlie, Anwyn, Anna, Casey S, Helen-Rose, Cassius and Kusang.
Mr Meade’s and Miss Farrow’s clubs merged on Friday and enjoyed a Harry Potter themed Sports club! All the children worked superbly together. #LovePlover
We have recently signed up to the ‘Recycle to Read’ initiative. This helps the planet and helps our school turn your batteries, which no longer work, into books for school! We are looking for the following batteries (AA, AAA, C, D, 9V) to be brought into school and placed in the collection point at the school office. Please ensure the contact points have been taped over and all batteries are brought in a plastic bag. If we fill our box and send it back, we have the chance to win £50 in book tokens for school. Each time you drop a battery off, your child can follow the link (https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdhcVMztGotW4k4mKQRrB7Z5idx3QzFQOsdlA3rxvz2E7816Q/viewform) to be in with a chance to win their own prize! The competition is open until 14th July. Thank you for your support!
