Congratulations to AJ, Craig and Sofia for winning the Pride of Plover award. All three of them have shown great examples of working hard, being kind and getting smart. Sofia has only been with us for three weeks but she has settled in well and it feels like we have known her for longer. Awesome guys!

In years 5&6 we have been finishing our final product ready to be added to a plaque as a lasting legacy at Markham main memorial. The children have been working on a range of poems all with a focus on each case study. The poems are sounding great and we are in the final stages of critique. We can’t wait to share the finished product with you all!

Year 6 had an exciting opportunity this afternoon. They were given the chance to listen to a presentation by a number of students in Year 5 at Thorne Green Top Primary about their latest Expedition- why is evolution important to existence? We were so impressed at the quality of learning they shared with us and we loved having the opportunity to share our critiques! We found out so much and were extremely impressed!
Well done Crew 6, for completing 20 laps of the school field this morning. We are really proud of you. Thank you so much to everybody who have already brought in their sponsor money. We can’t wait to see your tribute to the ex miners in the Armthorpe Miner’s Memorial Garden.

A huge shout out to our Year 6 yellow T-shirt winners this week! Marsels, Kian and Coby have all been awesome this week! Kian has worked really hard at sharing contributions in crew and he was awesome in crew dodgeball. Marsels has been working really hard with his attitude to learning and has been a pleasure all week! Well done to Crew Blackham for passing the most quizzes for the 2nd week running. A shout out goes to Crew Chapman for coming a very close second. However, I’m most impressed with Crew Topliss this week – they must have been reading lots and quizzing because they have managed to get into third place.
