3LS are enjoying a lovely peaceful and cool morning. Weāve created some beautiful art work and are now relaxing in the shade with our books. Look out for our finished artwork later on!

Tonight was another proud moment for me as LKS2 Phase Leader. Five of our Year 3 and 4 children, with children from the other three XP primary schools, presented the story behind their Spring Expedition, “Why should we protect this beautiful planet?” at the Climate Conference organised by XP School’s Year 10 students.
It was a packed hall, but our children spoke with real confidence and got a great round of applause.
The evening was rounded off with the premiere of our charity song CD and video. The children then helped to sell the CDs. and I am pleased to say they sold very well and people were very impressed.
Best of all, this was a great rehearsal for next Tuesday, when we have our own Celebration of Learning at Plover – when you will also be able to buy the CD.
A big thank you to the parents and grandparents that came and supported their children at the event, it is much appreciated.

We have had a fun , if not familiar couple of transition days so far this week. We have have played team building games, to get to know each other better and begun writing a guidebook for how to be successful in Year 3. We have even been cod-breaking in maths.
Today, inspired by the story ‘The Dot’, we have created our own pieces of dot artwork that will be joined together with the pieces from the rest of the school, to create a giant mosaic picture in our crew colours.
This is what we have done…
We are settling in well to being Year 4s!

Today Y3 transitioned into Y4, and Crew 4F met their new teacher Miss Farrow. We played some ice breaker games, set expectations for the classroom environment and drew self portraits. Crew 4F had lots of fun getting to know one another!

Year 5&6 have been amazing this morning during their crew games. They have embraced their new crews and spent the morning team building and problem solving. I am so proud of all them and I cant wait to have them in 5/6 next year!

Today 3LS have been using their knowledge of multiplication to investigate and solve word problems. How many people could share a pack of 12 biscuits? How many bikes or tricycles could there be if there are 24 wheels in total? I wonder how many possible answers you can find? Why not test your multiplication skills on mathsframe.com

Just a few preparation reminders for Sports day which is next Monday 18th July:
Some year 3 & 4 children took part in a XP football tournament this afternoon at XP against teams from Plover and Green Top.
All the children were a credit to themselves and the school. A huge thank you to the parents volunteers for your cooperation and support!
