See you soon Year 6!

Just a message to say that today is not good bye to Year 6.

We don’t know exactly when we will return to school however should it not be until September please rest assured that we will have a leaver’s party as soon as we can!  Myself and the Year 6 team want to give all of the children in the year group a chance to celebrate their primary years at Plover as they start the next chapter in their lives.

I’m sure this will include t-shirt signing and plenty of selfie taking!  We will of course aim to include our parents and carers too.

Stay safe and please remember we are here if you need anything in the coming weeks.

Joe Wicks has announced that he will do a live workout Monday-Friday at 9am via his YouTube channel! Follow the link below!

https://m.youtube.com/user/thebodycoach1/search?query=hiit

It’s for 30 minutes each day and will be a great way to get everyone energised, fresh and ready to start the day ahead (as well as take the pressure off you grown ups at home too. Grab yourselves a cuppa!)

Other websites to help keep active are the very popular ‘Go Noodle’ and ‘Cosmic Kids Yoga’

Accessing learning from home

Good morning, all work will be added onto google classrooms ready for children in years 5&6 to access from Monday. We have demonstrated this in school so children are as prepared as possible. On there, we have also added numerous links to support your children’s learning at home. We ask that ALL children at home complete the daily check in between 8:30am and 9:30am each morning so we can keep in contact with children every day. We encourage all children to complete one maths, one literacy and one expedition lesson a day. If you or your children have any questions- please use google classrooms to contact your child’s teacher or myself as phase leader- [email protected]

We want to thank you all for your support and patience during this uncertain time. We are here to support you and your children as much as we possibly can.

In regards to the London trip, I am in continuous contact with the company we have booked with. I want to remain positive and optimistic as so many of our children are so excited about this trip. But of course, in reality, there is a high chance it will be cancelled. Can I ask all parents make no further payments and should it still go ahead, we can sort payments closer to the date. We do have the option to reschedule to July, but of course nothing can be finalised at this time. I will try to have updated everyone with a final decision before Easter. Should anyone want refunding, please let me know- it is possible to move the money out of your parent pay account and into your bank.

I am keeping everything crossed this trip can go ahead for our children, they deserve it!

Please keep in contact, stay safe and hopefully I’ll get to see you all soon!

A big ‘thank you’

Tracy, our cleaner, would like to say a big Thank You to all the children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6, for how much they have looked after the toilets this last week. She is so proud of you all and you have really helped to make her job less difficult.

Well done, I am really proud of you to and want to send a special Thank You to our volunteers who have been keeping an eye out at beak and lunchtime.

Mrs Graves

I know how much 6B enjoyed making cards to send to our local care homes at Christmas and so I thought I would share this idea. If anyone would like to make something to send to the elderly during their time off school, they can send me it via google classroom and I’ll happily send on. A little kindness goes a long way 🙂

Accessing learning from home

Good morning, for any children in years 5&6 that are currently self isolating, we are putting  learning resources onto google classroom so they can access learning from home. Details will follow shortly for parents/carers on how to access this from home and paper copies of our learning will be posted out to those with no internet/laptop access.

Please can we ask you regularly check your child’s class blog for updates and by subscribing to our website, you will be emailed instantly each time a new blog post is added. We have also added a list of useful websites for all areas of our purposeful curriculum which children can access at home.

For children remaining in school, learning will continue as normal and we are showing children how to access google classroom. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s class teacher.

Thank you for your continued support and please feel free to contact me if you need anything! My email is [email protected]

We are still busy in school. Your children have completed some fabulous writing which has made me very proud of them. We are currently in the middle of assessments – they were cheering when they heard we were completingan arithmetic test! Alot of the children were very proud of their scores – well done 5K.
