Congratulations to Lucas – this week’s yellow T-shirt winner. You’ve shown all the habits of work and learning that we expect of you and supported your peers when they needed help too. What a star!

Year 6 were superb scientists this week. Exploring states of matter with water (using transfiguration transformations) resulted in cold hands and chocolatey mouths. Oh, and we learnt lots of new vocabulary too like sublimation!

Well done to Crew Blackham for winning the league again this week. A shoutout goes to Crew Graves for reaching third place for the first time and to Crew Chapman for maintaining second place.
We are so proud of you 5/6 for not only producing awesome work last term during challenging times when some of you were working from home and adapting to online lessons but also for the amazing fundraising you all contributed to for Markham Main mining memorial. You are all amazing and I hope you enjoy this video capturing a truly awesome Expedition!

The creativity has continued to flow today as we have experimented with watercolours to create some fabulous Harry Potter artwork.
Well done everyone. You have all worked so hard today!

I’m not sure who was more excited about our first day back: me or the children! The buzz of creativity began the second that we launched our new expedition and continued all day. It was amazing to see pupils group themselves together and work collaboratively on their own mini-projects to put towards the overall ‘Team 5/6’ effort.
What will day 2 have in store?

Just a reminder that this Friday is our Harry Potter dress up day. We will be swapping our maths and literacy lessons and instead, we will be participating in lessons only wizards and witches engage in- defence against the dark arts, quidditch, potions, behind the magic and transfiguration. The children will each have the opportunity to be sorted into a house by the sorting hat before the day at Hogwarts begins. This is going to be such an exciting day and we can’t wait to capture all of the exciting things we get up to and we will of course share them on our blogs!
I wonder what our guiding question is going to be?

Congratulations to Xavier and Lucas, who were the lucky winners of our Accelerated Reader competition. We were amazed at how many entries there were- which means lots of reading and quizzing has been happening in our phase! Look out for the next reading competition after Easter. Enjoy your yummy doughnuts!

Congratulations to AJ, Craig and Sofia for winning the Pride of Plover award. All three of them have shown great examples of working hard, being kind and getting smart. Sofia has only been with us for three weeks but she has settled in well and it feels like we have known her for longer. Awesome guys!

I hope you all have a wonderful Easter break and I can’t wait to see you all next term for our final expedition of the year. It’s going to be amazing! Stay safe everyone!
