I have seen some gorgeous English work this morning during our red box work lesson. We discussed the emotions of characters during a potions scene in Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. We used colours to support the emotions we decided upon and we discussed why we had selected certain colours and why we felt they resembled certain emotions. We then added the sentences into our recount of the potions lesson.
We have had a fabulous maths lesson this morning. We have been converting percentages to fractions and decimals. The year 6ās worked amazing in their collaborative groups. I saw lots of children leading their own learning to ensure they achieve their ME! So, so proud of you all 🌟
Year 6 have worked so hard in maths this morning. They have been solving problems involving ratio. Iāve seen great collaboration from all and I am feeling really proud!

This week, I have awarded 6H’s yellow T-shirt to Katrina! She has been a true star over the last five days and I could not have prouder of her than when I saw her lead her own learning on Friday morning! Keep up the hard work and perseverance, Katrina. What a well deserved award!

Year 6 have been scientists this week. Our test tube water cycles went down a storm…just look at the condensation forming on the inside of the glass…

Well done to Crew Blackham for coming first again in our reading league, and to Crew Chapman for coming a close second. A shout out goes to Crew Lister for gaining third place; you must have been reading your socks off.
Challenge accepted: convert a muddy mixture of water, soil, stones, pebbles and twigs into the clearest water possible. Collaborative working enabled a range of techniques to be used – however the inclusion of a few red herrings caused more than a few difficulties along the way.
Great fun was had by all but more importantly, many lessons were learnt…including to look out for spies from other teams. Can you spot Lucas the infiltrator?
