Today in Crew Chapman, we have been testing materials to see if they are soluable or insoluable. We were surprised to find out that pepper does not dissolve. Iāve seen great collaborative work and discussions today. Well done Crew Chapman.

Year 5 and 6 have been investigating how change of state can make things move. For this the staff used water that was heated to create steam, this steam then moved the pin wheel toy. We also discussed how the steam could then be condensed so the water could be reused.#LovePlover
As Scientists, we have been trying to separate salt from water and sand from water. We used filtering and distillation.

Today as Mathematicians we have been using jelly babies to understand ratio. We gave the ratio of colour to colour and then worked out total amounts. I was impressed how quickly the children grappled with this new concept.

Well done to Crew Blackham for coming first again in our reading league, and to Crew Chapman for coming a close second. A shout out goes to Crew Lister for gaining third place; you must have been reading your socks off.
This week our Yellow T-shirt Winner is Luke. He is always kind, helping others where he can. He gets smart by listening and taking on advice and works hard to achieve his goals. Well done Luke!
I would also like to give a shout out to Kristians, who has produced an excellent piece of writing. He had a pledge to include a semi colon in his writing and yesterday he achieved it. Keep it up.
