Deaf Awareness Talk

Thank you Mrs Brown for a interesting and informative talk this afternoon. The children listened beautifully and with respect. They did a wonderful practical demonstration of how the ear worked. Below is a photo and I am awaiting Mrs Graves’ technical support to upload the video version so check back soon!

Lots of children asked for the link to the signed song so please find it below. #LovePlover

Healthy eating

3T have really impressed me today with their willingness to try new things. We had some incredibly tasty options on display thanks to Ethan’s mum (thank you Mrs Kibble!) and lots of the children have gone home tonight asking their grown up to put some new items on the shopping list! 4’s all round for getting smart 3T, I feel like we need a ā€˜be healthy’ column this week too! #LovePlover

Healthy Eating Week

Today is Day 1 of Healthy Eating Week.

We started the day by thinking about how healthy we are and then had a special assembly from the British Nutrition Foundation that taught us about the key things to do:

  • Eat 5 a day fruit and vegetable
  • drink 6-8 glasses of water (or milk)
  • eat lots of fibre with whole grain
  • exercise or be active for an hour a day
  • chouse healthy options of food.

Children have their own tracker this week to record how healthy they are.

This morning/afternoon, thanks to Ethan’s mum, Mrs Kibble, we are tasting different fruits to find out what is our favourite.

Happy Healthy Eating Week!

Learning to speak in public

As part of our English Cycle, we have been learning about how to speak in public. We had to speak for 2 minutes to our peers about a topic we were passionate about. We tried not to pause or use words like ‘erm’ and ‘umm’! It was very challenging! We also tried to maintain good eye contact and speak in an engaging way. We had such a good time and everyone was a super sport joining in. Well done 3T #LovePlover

The sun has got his hat on!

Hello everyone,

This is just a reminder to send children to school with a water bottle now that the days are becoming sunnier and warmer. It is a great idea to label their bottles as sometimes children have the same style of bottle. You may also want to consider sending children in with some sun cream and a hat for the very sunny days! It is lovely to see the sun shining and we want the children to be able to enjoy it as safely as possible.

Well done LKS2

I just wanted to say a big well done to Year 3 and 4 for all their hard work this half term.

I have been so impressed by the way the children have engaged with our expedition and there has been a brilliant range of home learning brought in, showing how much they have been enjoying their learning.

The children have done so well since coming back into school and they certainly deserve a return to some fun and normality this school holiday.
