Miss Wood talked to the children today about what life is like in South Africa. The children looked at lots of photos and objects and talked about similarities and differences. We are looking forward to learning about a different country tomorrow.
This week we are focussing on life in another area of the world and we are focussing on the continent of Africa. Today the children looked at pictures of houses in different countries and compared them. Some of the houses were the same as our houses but some were different.
Year 4 had so much fun creating their song lyrics with our XP trust expert, Geoff, this morning. Hearing the whole phase sing their verses together was beautiful. We are now one step closer to producing our final product and I can’t wait to hear what the final version of the song will sound like!
Year 6 have had a wonderful trip to Tropical World today. We engaged in a workshop, classifying animals and learnt about the adaptations of animals. We also had a walk around the centre, which allowed us to study animals from South America in a rainforest environment.
We have been recapping how to convert between mixed numbers and improper fractions today. How brave were these members of 6H when they offered to model how they came to their answers! Well done for conquering those fear demons too. Keep going, everyone in 6H…together: ‘We’ve got this!’
Smile with pride, Demi-Lea! 😀
You ‘nailed it’ today, Ksawery! 😃 l
You were so confident, Ella! Now it’s your turn to convince Lucas to give this a go too. 😁
Now try telling me that ‘maths is not your friend!’ You did it!😃
Marvellous Mo was in his element! 😀
Tomorrow, be prepared for adding and subtracting fractions without common denominators. Let’s keep increasing those arithmetic scores people!
Harry is keeping his yellow T shirt for another week as he received it a little late. He was a superstar last week. Really taking on board advice to improve his writing.
Well done to James and Shelby on their beautiful writing and Oscar, Nelly, Mia and Ellie on their creative home learning. 10 crew coins and a Plover Praise postcard for you all!
Well done Nishal and Jasmine for producing beautiful home learning. The quality and presentation is amazing. Mrs Haycock and I are so impressed with the quality of the work we are receiving from everybody. Keep up the hard work! #LovePlover
Today we had a go at learning how to draw a pig. After drawing our pigs, we then critiqued them before having another go. I was super impressed by the drawings F2W produced.
