We are scientists!

Today, we had three minutes to prepare a quick demonstration of the difference between orbit and rotates in order to explain how the planets moved. We then had to deepen our knowledge by reading a part of an explanation text and feeding back to our group the main points of what we had read.

We are Mathematicians

For our active starter in Maths today, we were given a number and had to go and stand near the nearest multiple of 10,000. This helped us consolidate our learning. When we were cold called we had to explain our reasoning. It was tricky but through collaboration we managed it.

Yellow t shirt winner!

This weeks yellow t shirt goes to the amazing Eva for being a fabulous learner and supporting her classmates. Several times Eva has coached other children in maths, using resources to help explain how to work out the answers. She has even inspired some other children to do the same. Well done Eva!

Building background knowledge

Who knew that Mrs Haycock could spin on the spot for so long without falling over? Never mind spin and orbit a table at the same time! Using demonstrations and a variety of video clips, 6H have built background knowledge so they can design an enquiry which would answer the question: Why do we have night and day?

I cannot wait until tomorrow so they can put their enquiries into action.
